In Han Pijesak, SDA offers 500 KM or sheep so that returnees do not vote for SDP!?

The election campaign for the Local Elections, which is already in full swing, is crossing the line of good taste, and even legality, in some parts of our country, writes the Patria News Agency.

An unbelievable story comes from Han Pijesak, where Ramo Čardaković (SDP) is fighting in his campaign to win votes for councilor in the Municipal Assembly against the dishonest actions of individuals from the SDA, who could not gather 100 signatures to even get on the list.

- Individuals from the SDA are visiting villages where Bosniak returnees live and offering people 500 KM just so they don't vote for me, or rather the SDP. I have witnesses who were offered ten sheep in exchange for not voting for me in the elections. This is scandalous and shameful, because the goal is clearly to have no Bosniak councilors, and there have never been any in the Han Pijesak Assembly before. The returnees are confused – Čardaković told Patria.

Čardaković sees the motives for such actions in the fact that Munib Jusupović (SDA) failed to collect signatures and could not even run in the elections. The SDP has three candidates on its list fighting for a councilor position in this municipality.

- I have not yet filed any reports to the Central Election Commission or investigative bodies. I don't know if there will be any effect, but I can't believe that people are capable of such acts for personal gain. Isn't our goal to get Bosniaks into the Assembly in order to improve the situation of the returnees and fight for them – Čardaković adds.

Three party candidates, all three representatives of Serb political parties, are running for the position of mayor of Han Pijesak municipality, along with 131 candidates for councilors, and one independent candidate, also for a councilor position.

Fewer than 100 Bosniak households have returned to the municipality of Han Pijesak, and there are still a large number of unrenovated houses.
