A bus powered by human and food waste made its first journey in Great Britain today, writes The Independent, reports the Patria News Agency.
The bus can carry 40 passengers.
The gas produced from wastewater and food will now be used to power buses in public transport, which will not only reduce fossil fuel consumption but also significantly contribute to improving air quality in urban areas.
Experts note that this is a very high-quality and sustainable way to power buses in public transport.
The first passengers to travel on this bus, called a bio-bus, will be tourists traveling from Bristol Airport in southwest England to the city of Bath, which is 21 kilometers away and is on the UNESCO list of protected monuments, reports NAP.
