In Montenegro 77 millionaires

PODGORICA, (Patria) - According to the latest data, there are 77 citizens in Montenegro who have more than one million euros in their accounts in domestic banks, the Central Bank announced. The most money in the account belongs to a citizen of Montenegro, whose account has 50.3 million euros.

The Central Bank does not disclose names, RTCG reports, because it is prevented from doing so by the law defining business secrets, i.e. Article 84 of the Law on Banks.

"The largest individual amount of deposits of natural persons in banks is 50.281 million euros and belongs to a resident," specified the CBCG.

At the end of December last year, as they explain, 77 natural persons have deposits in banks in the amount of more than one million euros.

"73 citizens have deposits in banks in the amount of one million to five million euros. One citizen has deposits in the amount of five to ten million euros, and three citizens have deposits of more than ten million euros," explained the Central Bank the structure of million-euro deposits.

The richest millionaire, judging by the accounts in domestic banks, is over 20 million euros "richer" than the largest legal entity deposit in Montenegro.

It is not certain whether the citizen with over 50 million is a record holder, because there is no data on how much residents of Montenegro have in foreign bank accounts. That record does not exist.

It is certain that the number of millionaires in Montenegro is increasing, as there were 64 in 2017, and ten fewer in 2016.
