In Bijeljina, a regional protest against lithium exploitation in Majevica

(Patria) - In Bijeljina, a regional protest rally is being held against the exploitation of lithium and other critical mineral raw materials in Majevica.

Organizers have called on all citizens of Semberija to unite and clearly express their opposition to mining projects which, they state, pose a threat to human health, agriculture, and the future of life in this region.

"A real danger of irreversible environmental pollution looms over our Semberija and Majevica due to the greedy desire of mining companies to open a lithium mine in Majevica. If these intentions were realized, our air, our water, and our land would very quickly become poisoned. All those who agree to have their cities and villages become polluted are accomplices in this ecological crime, along with those who planned it.", the organizers announced.
