In BiH, 548,612 people unemployed at the end of August, more than 50% are women

An increase in the number of unemployed was also recorded during August, so on the last day, a total of 552,319 unemployed people were registered in BiH, of which 394,168 in FBiH, while in RS there were 145,984, and in Brčko District 12,167, announced the BiH Employment Agency, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

Compared to July, when 548,612 unemployed people were registered, the number of unemployed in RS has slightly decreased by less than 1000 people.

Of the total number of people seeking employment, 282,509 or 51.15% are women. Incidentally, the latest examples from the state-owned company "Grijanje Zenica" indicate what women are facing and that they are in an unequal position with men. We remind you that two employees were fired due to pregnancy.

On the other hand, frequent questions from employers during interviews with female candidates relate to marital status, number of children, and most importantly, whether they plan to become pregnant in the coming years.

Such an attitude of employers in the private sector, and increasingly in the public sector, violates basic human rights, but also shows a distorted system in BiH against which there is still no effective way to fight.
