In BiH, there is a staged chaos controlled by certain centers of power

Damir Čardžić, a representative in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly and a delegate in the House of Peoples of the FBiH Parliament in the previous convocation, spoke with the Patria news agency about the current political situation in BiH and offered his views on how to improve it.

- The situation in the country is very complicated, and there is staged chaos controlled by certain centers of power. There is no corrective factor that would somehow bring everything back to normal or hold someone accountable before the law.

Citizens must impose rules based on the principle of what is right, what is wrong, what is possible and what is impossible, what is good and what is bad, and vote for those who prove they can make positive changes. The key is in the hands of the citizens and their right to decide in elections, which is the only democratic path, says Čardžić.

In his opinion, to improve the lives of all citizens, the Constitution of FBiH needs to be amended and cantons in FBiH abolished, which would lead to significant financial savings.

- On February 12, 2014, I submitted a "Declaration on the Amendment of the Constitution of the Federation of BiH" to the KS Assembly for adoption, which, although it had to be considered according to the rules of procedure, was never taken into consideration or put on the agenda, states Čardžić.

He says that no political party has had the opportunity to control all processes so far.

- Because it did not have full capacity or sincere coalition partners in either the legislative or executive branches, and this is necessary so that obstructions from coalition partners do not periodically arise, emphasizes Čardžić and adds:

- Information is being spun in the media so that people do not deal with the real state of affairs in society, i.e., they do not think about the lack of jobs, the lack of food, the non-functioning economy, the plundered state, etc., etc.

Lately, I am bothered by the emphasis on "Islamic terrorism." There is no Islamic or Catholic or any other terrorism, nor terrorism that religion or nationality calls for. A terrorist is a terrorist without any prefix.

Čardžić also commented on the work of judicial bodies in our country.

- I watched an interview with Vasvija Vidović, who specifically commented on the work of the BiH Prosecutor's Office, pointing out the poor preparation of cases and indictments that then fall in court, and the state is forced to pay high amounts to individuals who were detained or prosecuted and then acquitted.

She states that they arrest people spectacularly, and then release them less spectacularly! You had an example where the leadership of the People's Party "Radom za boljitak" was arrested the day before the election campaign in the last elections. Then, the night before the election silence, it was announced on all media that their detention as an "organized criminal group" was extended for another 60 days, and then, on the principle of "oops, sorry," they were released a few days after the elections.

To make the absurdity even greater, the Constitutional Court of BiH decided that there were no grounds for their detention in the first place, and that the decision of the Court of BiH by which detention was ordered contained violations of the Constitution of BiH and the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms.

The decision of the Constitutional Court of BiH is only a moral satisfaction for the leadership and members of "Boljitak," who claimed all along that it was a political arrest aimed at removing them from the political scene until the general elections were over, and which, as it turned out after the elections, caused enormous damage to them because, according to all indicators, "Boljitak" should have had a better result than in the 2010 elections. Who will be responsible for this? More than terrible, concludes Čardžić.

IN BIH, EVERYONE IS THREATENED, BUT IT IS HARDEST FOR THE OTHERS

- The Chairman of the BiH Presidency, Mladen Ivanić, stated that it is difficult to be a Serb in the Federation of BiH and a Bosniak in RS. In BiH, all constituent peoples are equally threatened, but it is hardest for the category of Others because our most important rights have been taken away.

Imagine the absurdity: you were born in BiH, you live there your whole life, you grow up, you get educated, you work, you earn various public and social recognitions, and then you don't have the right to run for member of the BiH Presidency or entity Presidency, for the state House of Peoples, you cannot be a judge of constitutional courts... This country must be based on the principles of equality of all its citizens before the constitution and laws, says Čardžić.
