Reisul-ulema in Tešanj: Those who decide must consider the consequences of their decisions

(Patria) - We live in challenging times, and those who make decisions must consider the consequences that will arise, the Reisul-ulema of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina Husein-ef. Kavazović stated today in Tešanj.

„There are many challenges ahead of our people and our community, and this is a time
of probably new important decisions for our people. We are faced with a chessboard, and we will have to provide answers to the challenges ahead of us,“ said the Reisul-ulema at the Mevlid ceremony held on the occasion of the 12th anniversary of the opening of the mosque in the Tešanj community of Vukovo.

He assessed that Bosniaks today are much stronger in material terms than
they were before, but that their disunity also affects their spiritual strength.

„I pray to God Almighty to strengthen our spirit. When we were spiritually strong, we could withstand even the worst pressure directed at our people, the crimes committed against us, and in difficult circumstances, we resisted and saved the country. We must turn our faces towards each other, do not turn your backs on each other.

We can have different opinions on matters, but not on goals. Our goals must be common, we must, as a people, provide answers to the challenges ahead of us and fight together,“ said Reisul-ulema Kavazović.

Today, a prayer was also recited in this community on the plot where a
waqf house will be built. Waqf certificates were presented to the waqifs who provided funds for the purchase of this land, namely Sulejman and Azra Hrvić, who endowed 220,000 KM, and Rusmir and Mirsada Hrvić, who provided 30,000 KM.

The Mufti of Zenica, hafiz dr. Mevludin-ef. Dizdarević, reminded that Tešanj is
known worldwide for many things, and most of all for its waqifs, for which he thanked the chief imam of the Islamic Community Council (MIZ) Tešanj, Fuad-ef. Omerbašić, for his work and activities.

Among other things, Mufti Dizdarević told those present that Muslims in
these times need a sense of hope and trust, but also someone to stand in front of them, whose trust they will have, so that they can step into the future with firmer and more stable steps.

Given that these are days of commemorating the 28th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in Srebrenica, the Mufti also reminded of the obligation to talk about Srebrenica, which should be a lesson for everyone.

„30 years ago, this people fought for their own survival and existence,
the genocide in Srebrenica occurred. In a few days, we will have another funeral, we will bury another 30 of our Muslims. Today, thank God Almighty, Muslims, Bosniaks are endowing large funds, employing people, buying companies.

With today's event, we are telling a beautiful story of the success of this suffering people, who are squeezed between two great national projects, and despite all that, they manage to survive, endure, and continue to build. We can be proud of that, as well as of the Islamic Community, which is the fundamental institution of Bosniaks and the last defense against many projects that do not wish well to this people and this country, and at the head of that institution is our Reisul-ulema Kavazović,“ emphasized the Mufti.

Before the Mevlid ceremony in Vukovo, a meeting was held with the Executive Board (IO) of this council in the premises of the Tešanj Council, during which the Reisul-ulema reminded that the Islamic Community has a constitutional obligation to represent Muslims and organize them in the countries where it operates.

„Only as an organized community can we develop our religious identity, to which
the community as such is dedicated,“ said Reisul-ulema Kavazović, adding that the functioning of the jamaat is most important for the Community.

He stated that the broadest identity of Muslims is preserved through education and mekteb, and emphasized that the Islamic Community in BiH has 100,000 children in mektebs who are being educated.

„That is our guarantee that we can, God willing, preserve who we are,“ said the Reisul-ulema.

On this occasion, he also pointed out that the Tešanj Council is one of the strongest jamaats, both in a religious sense and in material support for the Community and the preservation of jamaats in the RS.

During this meeting, the Mufti of Zenica pointed out the obligation to strengthen
those institutions that are crucial for the biological survival and religious and spiritual identity of Bosniaks, reminding that the Islamic Community has been persistently taking care of this for centuries. During today's meeting, Fuad-ef. Omerbašić was also presented with a decree appointing him as the chief imam of MIZ Tešanj.
