Petition launched: Schism also in Živinice SDA

After four SDA deputies left the party's club in the BiH Parliament yesterday, questioning the existence of a parliamentary majority, the situation within the party is also complicating in other places, writes Patria.

Two months have passed since the local elections, and the storm in Živinice SDA is not subsiding. After winning ten mandates in the Municipal Council of Živinice and losing the position of mayor, party cadres are increasingly dissatisfied. Conflicts at almost every session of the municipal or executive board. 

According to a reliable source and interlocutor who provided us with details of the situation in and around Živinice SDA, the introduction of a trusteeship in the Municipal Board of the Party of Democratic Action is imminent. For the second time after the party was taken over two years ago by "political bandits" who shaped politics in local pubs.

 - An extensive petition campaign is underway within the municipal organization of SDA, and over 2,000 signatures have been collected so far, which is enough to introduce a trusteeship in this party. The dissatisfaction of the wider membership of Živinice SDA was generated by the Initiative Committee for the normalization of the situation in the OO SDA Živinice. A group of long-time members and activists, who are among the founders of the party, youth, women and respected citizens of the municipality, decided on this step with the aim of restoring dignity to the party, which was taken away by turncoats and self-interested politicians. Some of the current members of the municipal board and the Executive Board of SDA, presidents of local communities and the Assembly of OO SDA joined the initiative.

The leadership of SDA Živinice, i.e., a smaller group of IO members led by individuals who are not even members of SDA, and who call themselves "friends" of SDA, have taken it upon themselves to make decisions on all important issues outside the party bodies, which have already caused enormous damage to the party and led to this situation. It is obvious that this leadership and their mentors from outside SDA will do anything to preserve the Public Institution Health Center Živinice, the general public knows very well why - our interlocutor said.

Falsified results

This group, which has privatized the party, assures the public after the local elections that SDA is a winning party, so to mask the truth, they have formed an unnatural and dysfunctional coalition. The latest developments at the sessions of the Municipal Council, where the current coalition blocked the account of the Municipality of Živinice, support this.

The current leadership has led to a decline in the party's reputation, and the results in the local elections have not been achieved.

- The current leadership has lost the mayoral position, the position of the president of the Municipal Council, numerous members, as well as individual companies. In the past two years, they have lost the support of Živinice business entities, and cadres have been favored along family lines and for work along narrow party lines with the aim of realizing certain projects from which everyone benefited - points out a well-informed source on the situation in SDA.

Obstruction of the Mayor

- The intentions of this SDA structure and their mentors, who formed a majority in the Municipal Council of Živinice under suspicious circumstances and "bought" individual politicians from other parties, are clear, all with the aim of obstructing the work of the current mayor who was elected by the will of the citizens of Živinice - he claims.

Due to all of the above, as well as the general situation in the party, activists, members of the IO and OO SDA Živinice, founders of the party, dissatisfied and concerned about the fate of SDA, want to inform the public about the unforeseeable consequences if the privatization of SDA is not stopped and it is not put on the right track.
