Kemal Lilić's bees live in unusual beehives that look like real houses

Beekeeper Kemal Lilić from Sarajevo has the most unusual beehives of all beekeepers in the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina. His bees are housed in beehives that look like residential houses - with roofs, windows, entrance doors, and even a balcony with a decorative railing.

- I can't say that the honey from these beehives is of higher quality than honey from commercial beehives, but my apiary is certainly more beautiful and interesting than most other apiaries - Lilić told the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP).

The interesting beehives of this cheerful beekeeper spend most of the year in Kemal's garden in the Sarajevo settlement of Pofalići, where they attract the attention of passers-by, and when June arrives, he takes the beehives and bees to graze in untouched nature.

- Usually, it's on the slopes of Romanija, where the bees collect nectar for one of the highest quality honeys in the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina - says this beekeeper.

Lilić is a war invalid without a leg. He was injured during the last war conflicts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it was precisely the bees, he says, that helped him preserve his psycho-physical health after the trauma he experienced.

- I owe a lot to my bees, so I wanted to repay them in a way. I decided to build the most beautiful beehives for them - Lilić explained, writes NAP.
