Opposition does not give up demands: We will not surrender, we will persevere to the end

Opposition deputies in the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska held a press conference where they spoke about the latest developments in the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska, writes the Patria agency.

The conference was addressed by SDS President Vukota Govedarica, PDP President Branislav Borenović, and NDP President Dragan Čavić.

They emphasized that after all the developments in the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska, RS Interior Minister Dragan Lukač should resign.

- RTRS fabricated last night that a revolution was happening here, that all the regulations adopted by this parliament were being violated, that we were being prevented from doing our job. It brings us to the point of saying - enough. We will not falter before this regime that is leading RS. Ćeranić and Lukač talking to us about revolutions, they came to power on SFOR tanks. We will fight to the end. We are ready to go all the way. Not only should Ćubrilović resign, but from today we have a new demand: until Lukač resigns unconditionally, there will be no assembly here.

This nation needs freedom, and this nation did not fight for Republika Srpska to live in fear and conformity. Everything Lukač said about national deputy Adam Šukalo is truly shameful. Is it a criminal offense that Šukalo took pictures of five phone cards and shared them on social media? - said Vukota Govedarica.

He then spoke again about the reasons for the dissatisfaction that has been present in the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska for the past few days.

- All this was done so that the audit report would not be on the agenda. We will not surrender, we will fight and persevere. We do not need yellow revolutions. It is perfectly clear to us that we have the support of the people in all of this, and we will take power with the people and bring freedom to this nation. That is why we will succeed - emphasized Govedarica.

Branislav Borenović stated that the authorities' claims after yesterday's events were just "monstrous constructions of the regime".

- We see that for only one reason we are receiving monstrous constructions from the regime. We only asked to discuss the audit report, to determine where the citizens' money of RS is. We will insist to the end that an end be put to the plunderers, criminals, and thieves that the coalition wants to protect with illegal decisions of the National Assembly of RS. Yesterday, lawlessness occurred, Ćubrilović showed that he is empty, hollow, who allowed illegal decisions to be made. Every single decision at that session will be challenged and annulled.

We are determined to return the parliament to its constitutional and legal framework, which has been usurped by an irresponsible government and ruling coalition. To summon and intimidate national deputies with rifles and pistols? There are those in the ruling coalition with good experience when it comes to various executions. We are not afraid of that. The citizens are behind us. A large number of RS citizens who are freeing themselves from fear. We do not want conflicts, no revolutions, a revolution is not when you ask to discuss the state of the budget, why banks have failed. Why doesn't Lukač investigate that? - Borenović wonders.

NDP President Dragan Čavić said that yesterday there were more police officers in the National Assembly of RS than opposition members.

- Police officers in the National Assembly of RS had pistols with live ammunition, and around the building were police officers with automatic rifles, while police cars for arrests and members of the special police were located near the building. We knew that and we did not give them any reason with any move to do what they wanted - says Čavić.

Čavić also mentioned the role of Interior Minister Dragan Lukač.

- His statements led me to believe that he was prepared to use weapons against national deputies. This is the only parliament where this has happened. The president of the assembly is an executor of a junta. He called armed people to regulate order in the assembly. They even turned off the elevator, and I ask journalists to check if this has happened anywhere else.

We have decided that we will continue our activities in the National Assembly of RS in accordance with parliamentary practice without violence. There will be no parliamentary sessions until this man is removed, resigns, or is dismissed. Let's see him in front of the assembly next week and see how he will forbid us. So, either Lukač's resignation or dismissal, or there will be no work in the assembly, as far as we are concerned - emphasized Čavić.
