Operation 'Hanadu': Three persons deprived of liberty

Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA) yesterday (27.01.2026) deprived three persons of liberty within the operation codenamed 'Hanadu' due to grounds for suspicion of committing the criminal offense of 'Illicit Trafficking of Excise Products' as stipulated by the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The persons concerned will, after criminal processing and questioning as suspects, be handed over to the further jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, under whose supervision the activities in the field were carried out.

Searches of apartments, auxiliary premises, and movable property were carried out in Maglaj and Šamac, at three locations, during which approximately 243 kilograms of cut tobacco, 500 packs of filled cigarettes not marked with excise stamps, approximately 500 kilograms of leaf tobacco, a tobacco cutting machine, a manual cigarette filling machine, and other items that may serve as evidence in further proceedings were discovered and temporarily seized.

The aforementioned activities were carried out based on an oral order from the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina and in cooperation with the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska and the Zenica-Doboj Canton.
