Operation 'Fugitive': Searches at 22 locations for trafficking of narcotic drugs

(Patria) - Police officers of the State Investigation and Protection Agency (hereinafter: SIPA) today (22.11.2021) began searches at 22 locations in the area of Bijeljina, Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Špionica, Pelagićevo and Orašje, due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that criminal offenses of "Organized Crime" in connection with the criminal offense of "Unauthorized Production and Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs" from the Criminal Code of Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been committed.

In the operational action "Fugitive", SIPA police officers are searching persons, residential buildings and movable property owned by or used by the suspects and temporarily confiscating items that may serve as evidence that the aforementioned criminal offenses have been committed.

The searches are being carried out under the orders of the Basic Court of Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina and under the supervision of the acting prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with police officers of the Brčko District Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Posavina Canton.

The mentioned activities are a continuation of the operational action "Fugitive" which began on 21.11.2021, by order of the Basic Court of Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on which occasion one person was deprived of liberty at the Orašje border crossing, when a search of the person and the passenger motor vehicle used by this person was carried out. On the same day, in the area of Bijeljina, police officers searched the house and weekend house used by the deprived person.
