Nikšić: SDA's mistake is that they don't want to be first in BiH, but first among Bosniaks

Commenting on his statement that SDA handed over the state to Dragan Čović, SDPBiH President Nermin Nikšić said on FACE TV's CD that it may seem like a harsh statement, but it is a reality, reports the Patria News Agency.  

- I would like to discuss this topic with arguments. I would say that it was a surrender without a shot fired. We have a situation where everything that HDZ policy dictates is accepted, and we are entering a dangerous political situation where everything in BiH is divided along ethnic lines, from ministries to companies to public resources. This creates the premise for the establishment of a third entity.  

It is not necessary for it to be formalized in the Constitution to understand the goal. The idea of postponing local elections is buying time to amend the Election Law of BiH.

Čović has already said that he has started negotiations with Izetbegović on the establishment of a Croatian electoral unit, which is practically an ethno-political division and a new entity, says Nikšić and continues:

- When we talk about the FBiH Government, Novalić is not excessively responsible, but rather the SDA policy that gives in to HDZ. The first thing they did was divide the Ministry for Veterans' Affairs into two components. Everything that was done regarding the revision has been undone.  

Speaking about how the new SDA-SBB coalition boasts about the swift adoption of laws in the FBiH Parliament, praise from the IMF and international support, Nikšić said that everything is true, but that it is artificial euphoria.  

- The only thing this government has done is the Labor Law, which has further entrenched divisions, where we have a situation where the federal inspectorate cannot carry out inspections in the cantons, and amendments to the Law on Civil Servants, which open up space for another 300 positions, and solidify ethnically and politically clean ministries, said Nikšić.

Regarding the SBB-SDA coalition, he stated that he is glad that there is now a strong parliamentary majority in the FBiH Parliament and that he fully supports it because then it will be clear who is responsible for the situation in FBiH.

- But I do not support the way we have gained another ethnic bloc, where we have praise from HDZ that SBB and SDA are now a Bosniak bloc as a counterweight to HDZ, or the Croatian bloc.

I cannot accept that there are two blocs - Bosniak and Croatian. The goal then is that FBiH does not exist, that what is essential for the state of BiH does not exist, but that there are three ethnic entities, and I think that is SDA's biggest mistake.

They do not want to be first in BiH, but first among Bosniaks, emphasizes Nikšić and concludes:

- This is completely contrary to the essence of SDP, what we are fighting for. We want a state of BiH in which we will all be equal.

I am truly afraid to even think about this definitive ethnic division, if the Election Law of BiH is amended so that everyone has their own ethnic ballot box. I think then there is no BiH, and that is definitely hammering the last nail into the coffin of this country.
