(Patria) - The Association of Fans of Football Club Sarajevo (UNFKS) on the occasion of events before, during, and after the match of the 17th round of the Premier League played in Mostar between Zrinjski and Sarajevo, when Zrinjski fans injured the assistant coach of Sarajevo, Muhamed Džakmić. has sent an open letter to the leaders of the Football Association of BiH.
We publish the statement in its entirety:
"The sports public in the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina is a silent witness to the systematic destruction of football as a whole, with a special emphasis on the 'elite' competition tier - the Premier League. Year after year, the interest of the audience, for whom this sport should be played, is rapidly declining.
There are many reasons, they are constantly repeated, both through the media (at least the objective ones) and through the daily life of the average sports enthusiast. What is worrying is the absolute, and already, we can freely say, traditional lack of desire/will/interest of the umbrella football organization in BiH for the competition with the pompous name Premier League.
We ask the FA of BiH a logical question - until when? Until when do you intend to increase the level of disinterest in anything other than the national team, travel, and daily allowances? Until when do you intend to turn a blind eye to the galloping collapse of BiH football?
Until when do you intend to let the refereeing organization drive away the few remaining spectators from the stadium? Until when do you intend, through your inaction, to alienate the few interested investors in BiH football? Until when will you only extract and give nothing? Until when will you build buildings for comfortable accommodation, while allowing football clubs to collapse and individuals to be endangered in the mud and mire of various 'football fields' across the country?
Until when will you tolerate the orgies of nationalists, the singing of convicted war criminals, like the latest one in Mostar? Until when will you synchronously label fans as hooligans and order their mistreatment in the form of allowing them into the stadium in the 25th minute and expelling them in the 80th minute?
Until when will you tolerate the stoning of sports officials and endanger their lives? Until when do you intend to create the league table in a way that suits your pockets? We will be satisfied with an answer to just one of the questions asked, and you choose which one.
A folk saying goes: 'You can do what you want, but you won't do it for as long as you want!'
We take this opportunity to call on the entire BiH football public to wake up from the lethargy into which they have been subtly pushed by the FA of BiH and to fight for what they love most - one day a week, watching their beloved club with dear people.
Fairly. Without refereeing theft. Without stoning. Without police torture. Without a predetermined winner. Imagine the bigwigs if someone took away your (national team) travel, hotels, planes, daily allowances? You would react too, wouldn't you!?"
