(Patria) - The Minister of Defense of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zukan Helez, is visiting Prague at the invitation of the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic, where the V4+CEDC+Western Balkans Defence Ministerial Meeting (CEDC Ministerial Meeting) is being held.
During his stay in Prague, Helez also held a bilateral meeting with the Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic, Jana Černochová, on Friday, December 8, 2023.
During the meetings, they discussed topics of common interest, Euro-Atlantic integration, bilateral and international cooperation between the two countries, security, and defense cooperation, among other topics.
"Defense cooperation between our two countries is very good, and the Czech Republic, as a NATO member, is a respectable partner on BiH's path to the EU and NATO," said Minister Helez.
He emphasized that preserving the future of Europe as we know it is a great challenge, but also that the efforts of the international community aimed at a swift and adequate response to current challenges are of utmost importance.
"On this occasion, I express my firm conviction and the need for even stronger cooperation and trust-building on the path to preserving peace and stability, both in the region and in the world," emphasized Minister Helez.
Finally, he thanked her for the support her country provided to BiH at the meeting in Brussels, which was held a few days ago.
"This is of great importance for Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially considering the fact that important steps and obligations towards fulfilling the key 14 priorities have been taken since obtaining candidate status for EU membership," Helez stated.
The Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic emphasized during the meeting that her country is a great friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina and will continue to support its Euro-Atlantic path in the future. She also believes that military cooperation between the two countries should continue and be strengthened.
