Lavić: Panther in Bijeljina attack again, they are bothered by books and truth

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Professor Senadin Lavić commented on the ban on book promotions in Bijeljina.

It is unacceptable that in the 21st century, wartime military formations ban writing and promoting books in Bosnia. These days in Bijeljina, the promotion of the book "The Destruction of Bosnia" by Jusuf Trbić was banned. The ban on promoting this book is a peacetime attack on Bosnia and its people, but above all, it is an attempt to prevent the emergence of truth or knowledge about what happened or is currently happening in Bosnia and its regions.

It is almost unbelievable and incomprehensible to the human mind that some wartime associations in Bijeljina, "Panthers" and similar wartime formations, are banning public book promotions and creating animosity in the public towards an author who patiently and based on verified facts, i.e., argumentatively and verifiably, writes valuable pages of human rationality.

The work of Jusuf Trbić from Bijeljina, as the president of BZK "Preporod" and as the author of several important books, has contributed to the culture of peace and the separation of "light from darkness" in the post-war atmosphere, i.e., bearing witness to the truth and establishing relationships among people based on knowledge of the events that created great historical agony in Bosnia for the sake of some hegemonic Greater-state projects from the 19th century. Trbić's essays show a mature and insightful writer who masters current problematic issues and theoretical deviations that help us understand the chaos we are in.

Through his conscientious and responsible writing work over the past twenty years, Jusuf Trbić makes a great contribution to understanding interpersonal destinies, and especially historical events in Semberija and Bijeljina, which are the result of the ideology of nationalism and Greater-state ambitions, due to which some people committed incomprehensible crimes. War crimes must be spoken about, but also current political processes in which dangerous wartime tendencies, totalitarianism, and monolithic thinking still live.
