No confirmation yet that young Samra was killed in Syria: "We don't want to believe it!"

Austrian Krone reports on Samra and Sabina, two girls who left home a year and a half ago from Vienna and joined the Islamic State. Seven days ago, Austrian media reported, still unconfirmed, that Samra was killed while trying to escape from Islamists, reports the Patria news agency. 

Her friends do not believe it. In an interview with Krone, whom they met with journalists in a small restaurant near the train station in Vienna, they say: "We don't believe Samra is dead. Perhaps someone deliberately planted such a message."

It was already reported once that the girls were dead, and the family waited for weeks to contact them. Fortunately, the girls contacted them then and confirmed they were alive. 

Krone reminds that new information about the girls often appears in the media - that they married ISIS fighters, that they became pregnant, that their husbands died and they remained in a women's shelter, that Samra gave birth... However, nothing has been officially confirmed, just like the latest news that Samra was killed.

They also recall how it all happened, in April last year. The girls left their homes, saying they would return home later, around 5 p.m. However, they were not there at 6 p.m. or 7 p.m. Their mobile phones were already turned off. When searching their rooms, the parents' world collapsed, they found a message: "Don't look for us, we serve Allah from now on." 48 hours later, they wrote on their Facebook profiles: "Our dream has come true." They also sent SMS messages to their families: "Don't worry about us," and an invitation to friends: "Here you too can find happiness, just like us."

The family still hopes

The girls' families still hope their daughters will return. Samra's parents still live in the house in Vienna where they lived, only going out to work and to the store, they don't socialize with anyone, and when someone mentions Samra, they burst into tears.

Sabina's family moved because they couldn't bear living in the house where Sabina brought life. However, despite moving, Sabina is constantly in their thoughts, writes Krone, reports Index.
