Isović: In FBiH, 21.360 fewer employees since March 16, taxpayer verification to follow

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Director of the FBiH Tax Administration, Šerif Isović, stated that the Tax Administration is implementing all measures of the FBiH Government and crisis headquarters regarding the protection of employees and all those who are present in tax offices. None of the 1,246 employees are positive for the virus, Isović said.

„The Tax Administration has a dual role, collecting public revenues and serving taxpayers. All communication is done electronically, by fax, and by mail,“ Isović explained. 

He stated that in the past period there were 28,551 dismissals and 7,235 new hirings. As of yesterday, there has been a decrease in the number of employees in FBiH by 21,360. 

„We monitor about 83,000 fiscal devices and have already identified a certain number of taxpayers who will be audited in the coming period. After the adoption of this law, the greatest responsibility will lie with the employees of the Tax Administration, and we are already preparing the acts and all necessary documents for its implementation.“ 

He stated that after the adoption of the law on mitigating economic consequences, around 30,000 applications from economic entities for subsidies are expected.

„We will strive to simplify this process in such a way that everyone can download the necessary forms from their account and submit them to the Tax Administration.

When asked if the number of undeclared workers has increased, Isović said that they have not received many reports on the info line for reporting all irregularities since March 16.

„I would not say that there has been an increased number of undeclared workers in this period. We monitor the operation of fiscal devices and have already detected that some are conducting business activities with disproportionate turnover. I think we will seal the premises of all these taxpayers and will not allow them to operate. During this period, the seals on their premises will remain longer. I urge them to operate legally, and I call on citizens who have not received a receipt or workers who are working undeclared to report anonymously by phone, and we will respond to their requests,“ Isović said.
