Hamzić will follow in Vedad Ibišević's footsteps

Among the twenty or so candidates at the U-19 national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina training camp was Dževad Hamzić, an American of Bosnian descent. The blond midfielder is the best player of the youth team St.Louis Gallagher and with such a reputation and recommendations from scouts from America, he arrived at the U-19 national team gathering in Zenica.

Toni Karačić, the coach of one of the most successful selections in the Football Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina, tested and looked for candidates for the ideal lineup in the training camp, the popular "Dragon's Nest", which will play in the elite round of qualifications next month in France. 

- I am proud to have been in the camp with the best players. I am impressed by the atmosphere, the work, the professional attitude of everyone in the national team. Especially how coach Karačić, then his assistants Ahmed Kečalović and Goran Brašnić, as well as the doctor and physiotherapist worked seriously and passed on their experiences to us. It's new to me and I learned a lot. I saw that Bosnia and Herzegovina has excellent players. I hope that my path will also follow the route paved by Vedad Ibišević, the best player of Hertha and a long-time representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Vedo also started building his football career from St. Louis. We are all proud of him and his success, which motivates every player in America that he too can become the new Vedo one day. It also makes me happy that Bosnia and Herzegovina has Dragons like Džeko, Pjanić, Ibišević, Đurić... - said Dževad Hamzić, a footballer of the American team St Louis Gallagher and a potential representative of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Hamzić recently participated in the famous Milan football camp in Chicago and was selected among the two players who met the criteria for a new invitation and a camp that will take place again in the spring. 

There is another connection that brings Hamzić closer to Vedo. Dževad is from Podrinje, originally from Sapna. That part of Bosnia and Herzegovina has produced many famous footballers, such as the aforementioned Ibišević, then Pjanić, Muratović, Salihović, Đurić, Stevanović. A. Hamzić, Berbić, Junuzović...

Interestingly, Dževad's father, Džemil Hamzić, was also a good footballer in his time and played for several German "Oberliga" teams in the nineties.
