FK Sarajevo: Hooligans came to Ljubuški specifically to attack our fans

SARAJevo, (Patria) - Football Club Sarajevo addressed the public with a statement regarding the unfortunate scenes that occurred during and after the friendly match between NK Ljubuški and FK Sarajevo, played at the Babovac stadium in Ljubuški.

"First of all, we want to thank our hosts in the city of Ljubuški with whom we have had good business relations for ten years. The city of Ljubuški has been providing hospitality to our club for years, whether it is for the preparations of the Bordo club or for away matches in the Herzegovina region. According to all the information we have available, it is clear that the incident that occurred during the second half of the match in Ljubuški was not initiated by local youths, but by a group that came to Ljubuški specifically to create a conflict with our fans," the Bordo club stated.

They added that Sarajevo fans provided support to the team with fair and correct cheering during the first half.

"Incidents occurred at the moment when our fans began to defend their property, i.e., vehicles with which they came to Ljubuški, and which were demolished by hooligans. These same hooligans organized an attack on our fans in the city of Mostar, where they attempted to damage the vehicles driven by our club's fans. Just as in the situation in Ljubuški, the fans of FK Sarajevo did not provoke anyone with any of their actions, but their goal was to support their beloved club in Ljubuški and then return to their homes in Sarajevo. FK Sarajevo strongly condemns these hooligan attacks on our fans and we want to believe that those responsible for the attack, who we have learned have been arrested, will be adequately sanctioned very soon," stated FK Sarajevo.
