Teams on site, parts of Sarajevo still without electricity

Sarajewo, (Patria) - Due to adverse weather conditions, the electrical facility of Elektroprijenos BiH substation Sarajevo 10 (Reljevo) was flooded, which led to the disconnection of the entire 110 kV high-voltage system to prevent a major breakdown.

With this procedure, substations 110 kV Sarajevo 10 (Reljevo) and Sarajevo 8 (Azići) were left without 110 kV power supply. Given that substation Sarajevo 10 is a key hub for the 110 kV network, the 110 kV power system in the Sarajevo area and the 110 kV system of the Višegrad loop were overloaded, causing intermittent power outages for customers in the Sarajevo area.

Elektroprijenos BiH teams are on site and are making every effort to normalize the 110 kV power supply to Sarajevo as soon as possible.

Teams of JP Elektroprivreda BiH – Branch "Elektrodistribucija" Sarajevo are making maximum efforts to reconnect as many substations as possible, taking into account the permissible load on the 110 kV system.

Currently, the biggest problem is the supply to the Ilidža Municipality area.

Areas of Bjelašnica towards Grepak, Babin do, Visojevica, Bakije sokak, Kabalovo, part of Otes, Riverina, and part of Pazarić are currently without electricity, while another part of Pazarić is supplied alternatively.

Since traffic communications are difficult or almost completely blocked, we appeal to our customers for patience and increased caution due to the danger of new overhead line failures. All available electrical installation teams are on site and, despite the extremely difficult conditions, are working to eliminate reported faults.

In the Kiseljak Municipality, in the Central Bosnia Canton, more than 1200 customers are without electricity, having been preemptively disconnected due to water ingress into the transformer station.
