SARAJEVO, (Patria) – Police intervened today in the quarantine at the Student Dormitory in Bjelave, as one person threatened self-immolation. After talks with the responsible doctor, the woman abandoned her intention and will undergo adequate medical therapy.
Since this morning, several passengers from Sweden have been refusing food, and after no one from the authorities has approached them with information on how long they will be in quarantine, they have continued their hunger strike.
Among them are elderly people and chronically ill patients whose health has deteriorated due to confinement and uncertainty about their further stay in quarantine.
Of the 63 passengers who arrived from Sweden, three are infected, and although the 14-day quarantine has expired, no one has yet told them whether they are planned to be sent for home isolation.
The president of the Sarajevo Canton Crisis Staff, Aida Pilav, said at today's press conference that the federal minister issues decisions on 28-day quarantine, but that there is a recommendation that one can leave quarantine after 14 days.
Bosnian citizens were placed in the Bjelave dormitory on April 5th, and were only tested on the 11th day of their stay.
