COVID in BiH: 40 deaths, 2,601 new cases in the last 24 hours

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - In the past 24 hours, another 2,601 cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Of this number, 1,839 new infections are in the Federation of BiH, 573 in the Republic of Srpska, and 189 in the Brčko District.

40 people have died from the consequences of the infection in the last 24 hours, of which 22 in the Federation of BiH, 16 in the Republic of Srpska, and two people in the Brčko District. Another nine deaths were reported retroactively in the Federation of BiH.

1,839 new cases of infection in the Federation of BiH, 22 deaths

In the past 24 hours, a total of 3,926 samples were reported to the Public Health Institute of the Federation of BiH, of which 1,839 were positive for SARS-CoV-2.

New cases were registered in all cantons.

A total of 1,138,189 samples have been tested so far, and SARS-CoV-2 has been confirmed in 221,564 people.

In the past 24 hours, 22 deaths were reported in the Federation of BiH, in the Herzegovina-Neretva, West Herzegovina, Zenica-Doboj, Posavina, Central Bosnia, Tuzla, Sarajevo, and Canton 10, while nine deaths were reported retroactively.

The total number of deaths in the Federation of BiH is 7,920.

Another 573 infected people and 16 deaths in the Republic of Srpska

In the last 24 hours, 1,126 laboratory samples were tested at the Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Srpska, the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska, the University Hospital in Foča, and the hospitals of Sveti Vračevi in Bijeljina and Sveti Apostol Luka in Doboj, and new coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) was confirmed in 573 people.

These are 259 men and 314 women, of which 65 are younger, 314 are middle-aged, and 194 are older.

According to place of residence, 109 people are from Banja Luka, 90 from Trebinje, 68 from Bijeljina, 26 from Gacko, 21 from Nevesinje, 20 from Gradiška, 17 from Zvornik, 16 each from Bileća, Doboj, and Kneževo, 14 from Prnjavor, 13 each from Kozarska Dubica, Šipovo, and Foča, 12 from Laktaši, 10 from Mrkonjić Grad, eight each from Brod, Modriča, and Novo Goražde, seven each from Pelagićevo and Šamac, six each from Prijedor, Srbac, and Teslić, five from Kotor Varoš, four each from Bratunac, Lopare, Milići, Ugljevik, and Šekovići, three from Rudo, two each from Derventa, Ljubinje, and Čajniče, and one person each from Berkovići, Višegrad, Vlasenica, Jezero, Kalinovik, Kostajnica, Novi Grad, Pale, and Čelinac.

In the last 24 hours, 16 deaths were reported to the Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Srpska. These are eight men and eight women, middle-aged and older, of which five people are from Banja Luka, two people from Novi Grad, and one each from Brod, Doboj, Gradiška, Kozarska Dubica, Ljubinje, Pale, Prijedor, Prnjavor, and Stanari.

So far, 104,726 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in the Republic of Srpska, and a total of 5,778 people with confirmed coronavirus tests have died.

A total of 396,610 people have been tested.

The total number of hospitalized people in the Republic of Srpska is 798, with 317 in the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska and 481 in other hospitals. 71 people are on ventilators, 35 in the University Clinical Center of the Republic of Srpska and 36 in other hospitals.

189 new cases of infection in the Brčko District

Today, 189 new cases of coronavirus infection were registered in the Brčko District. Two people died from the consequences of the infection.
