Budget of USC on hold, physical altercation prevented at USC Assembly session

SARAJevo, (Patria) - At today's session of the Assembly of the Una-Sana Canton, there was a verbal conflict between Elvir Hrustanović, president of the Trade Union of Healthcare Workers of the Cantonal Hospital in Bihać, and assembly delegate Ekrem Prošić. Police and other delegates prevented a physical confrontation.

The point of contention was an agenda item concerning the Financial Plan of the Cantonal Health Insurance Fund, upon which the payment of December salaries for healthcare workers depends.

The session is still ongoing, and the speaker of the USC Assembly told Patria that he does not expect this document to be adopted, nor the cantonal budget.

- Currently, there is no majority that would support the cantonal budget and the Fund's Financial Plan. We will probably have to hold an extraordinary session of the USC Assembly in the coming days, said Halkić.
