Bećirović in Berlin: Germany will continue to strengthen BiH's defense capabilities

(Patria) - Member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović spoke with the Minister of Defense
of the Federal Republic of Germany, Boris Pistorius, at the Ministry of Defense
headquarters in Berlin.

Bećirović emphasized that the Federal Republic of Germany, as one of the key European partners, provides exceptional support to the reform and Euro-Atlantic integration processes in BiH, which is particularly reflected in significant participation in NATO's project for building the defense capabilities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In this regard, the member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović thanked Minister Pistorius for the concrete assistance of the Federal Republic of Germany, which relates to the procurement of military equipment, uniforms, as well as the initiative to support the arrangement of facilities and infrastructure at the locations of the Armed Forces of BiH.

Bećirović and Minister Pistorius agreed on the importance of maintaining stability and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkan region. The interlocutors stated that preserving the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Dayton Peace Agreement is of exceptional importance.

During the conversation, the Minister of Defense of the Federal Republic of Germany, Boris Pistorius, said that the two
countries are achieving very good cooperation in the field of defense, and that Germany is a partner
of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which strongly supports reform processes in the field of defense.

He emphasized that the Federal Republic of Germany will continue to provide strong support to BiH and its defense sector, especially regarding the building of state defense capabilities, as well as overall security and stability.

Minister Pistorius, among other things, informed Bećirović about the continued participation of
German soldiers in Operation ALTHEA, and the firm commitment to the implementation of the mandate
of EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The member of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović thanked Germany for its decision to have its
soldiers participate in the ALTHEA mission, and emphasized that this strengthens the capability and
relevance of EUFOR forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
