(Patria) - We do not want any divisions there... The last thing we need is another crisis, and we have already stated that, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio told Voice of America (VOA), responding to a question from VOA's chief State Department correspondent Nike Ching.
- Regarding possible next steps, we are considering various options, but what is absolutely clear - regardless of possible internal differences - is that this situation (in BiH, editor's note) must not lead to the disintegration of the country, nor to a new conflict.
We are certainly considering all possible options, I think discussions about this are taking place at the United Nations today, so we will see. However, I hope that we can do what is in our power to prevent another conflict from starting in Europe - Rubio said.
Rubio's statement followed a question from a VOA journalist, who was covering his visit to Jeddah, where the US and Ukrainian delegations were to discuss ending the Russian-Ukrainian war. During the flight, she asked him to comment on his recent post on X.
In that post, we remind you, he stated that "the actions of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, undermine the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and threaten its security and stability".
"Our government calls on political leaders in Bosnia and Herzegovina to engage in constructive and responsible dialogue. We call on our partners in the region to join us in opposing this dangerous and destabilizing behavior," the US Secretary of State wrote on X at the time.
