US Embassy: Dodik is mistaken if he thinks the US will stand aside while he pushes BiH into conflict

(Patria) - The US Embassy in BiH reacted to the latest statements by the President of RS, Milorad Dodik, who announced in an interview with RTRs that the smaller BiH entity will secede if the High Representative Christian Schmidt imposes a solution on state property.

- Republika Srpska is an entity within the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is an integral part of the state, but neither Republika Srpska nor the Federation of BiH exist outside of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The BiH Constitution does not provide for the right to secession for the entity, nor for any other unit below the state level.

The US has made it clear on several occasions that it will react and oppose anti-Dayton actions, which secession is.
