Amel Sejfović in Zenica, seven people in custody, search for motorcyclist continues

Inmate Amel Sejfović, who is accused of the new crime of escaping from a person deprived of liberty, was transferred to the Zenica Penitentiary today, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

Sejfović and his accomplices are being tried at the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo for several criminal offenses in connection with the bank robbery in Ilidža on November 5, 2015.

On September 3, Sejfović escaped from the Miljacka Penitentiary at gunpoint. After eight days, he was located and apprehended in the area of Visoko in an operation by several police agencies and returned to the Miljacka Penitentiary.

The Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office requested the transfer of Sejfović to the Zenica Penitentiary.

Incidentally, about ten people were arrested for involvement in the escape and aiding the escapee, and seven of them were taken into custody. The first to be arrested were employees of the Sarajevo Penitentiary who brought weapons to Sejfović and enabled his escape during recreation. The other arrested individuals helped Sejfović after his escape, providing him with transportation and food.

The Sarajevo Cantonal Prosecutor's Office continues its investigation in this case, and the accomplice who drove Sejfović away on a motorcycle after his escape from the Sarajevo Penitentiary is still at large.
