SARAJEVO, (Patria) - According to data from the Public Health Institute of Sarajevo Canton, 709 new cases of coronavirus infection were confirmed in KS yesterday, after laboratory testing of 2,209 samples. In the same period, 370 people recovered from Covid-19 infection. One person died as a result of this disease.
Currently, 139 patients are hospitalized, of whom 130 have acute infections, while the rest are post-Covid or are under observation/triage. The proportion of unvaccinated people among hospitalized patients is 71.22 percent.
89 patients are being treated at the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo, and 50 at the General Hospital “Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš”. 15 people are on ventilators, seven are using non-invasive ventilation, and the same number of patients are on oxygen support.
Sarajevo Canton currently records 3,215 active cases of Covid-19 infection. 4,292 people are currently in self-isolation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, a total of 74,631 people infected with coronavirus have been registered in Sarajevo Canton, while 69,737 have recovered.
"In the past seven days, the average number of infected people is 437, while the weekly incidence, i.e., the number of sick people per 100,000 inhabitants, is 725", according to data from the Public Health Institute of KS.
659 patients were examined in the Covid outpatient clinics of the Public Institution Health Center KS, of whom three were transported to hospital for treatment.
A total of 2,319 PCR swabs were taken at drive-in points and in Covid outpatient clinics. Drive-in points in Vrbanja, Ilidža, and in Novi Grad and Semizovac are open every day from 07:30 to 20:00.
The Covid call center recorded 1,188 calls, and 405 conversations with patients were conducted via phone numbers in Covid outpatient clinics.
A total of 1,876 doses of coronavirus vaccine were administered yesterday.
The Ministry of Health of KS appeals to citizens to get vaccinated to protect their own health and the health of those around them. They also thank citizens for their cooperation and invite them to continue to respect all prescribed hygienic-epidemiological measures.
