Zirojević: Parliamentary majority in crisis, Government of Montenegro not functioning

(Patria) - MP of the Social Democrats of Montenegro (SD) Nikola Zirojević, in an interview with Portal Analitika, assessed that the collapse of the Podgorica government is certain, and early elections are realistically expected.

He also emphasizes that only after obtaining the IBAR, Montenegro faces painstaking work, adding that its acquisition is more a result of geopolitical circumstances than of the Brussels administration's enthusiasm for the capabilities of the Government and the current majority.

The interlocutor of Analitika warns that Croatia can at any moment block Montenegro's integration process, and that delaying and then adopting the resolution on Jasenovac after the IBAR would be an ill-considered tactical move.

He believes that due to the tendency of opposition growth at the local level, no one from the majority is rushing towards parliamentary elections, so he is closer to the view that, in order to stay in power, they will abandon programmatic and ideological principles.

Asked if he has information on why the resolution on Palestine, of which he is a proposer, has not yet been included in the parliamentary procedure, Zirojević says he has no information, but that he, as the proposer, will propose it as a motion to supplement the agenda in the very near future.

Zirojević also points out that frequent postponements of Parliament sessions indicate that the parliamentary majority, and therefore the Government of Milojko Spajić, is in a serious crisis and that things there have long not been functioning as they should.
