Why We Don't Need the European Union Led by Croatia - Pro-Bosnian Politics Must Abandon Compromise!

Bosniaks are a threat to Europe, radical Muslims, terrorists, mujahideen, fundamentalists… There are many phrases and derogatory words with which a nation that has survived genocide, double UZP and double aggression is sought to be targeted as a problem for the European continent.

This simultaneously promotes the image that Bosniaks (majority Muslims) are a threat to Catholic Europe, while also highlighting the fact that this is a nation that has suffered the worst crimes since World War II and, despite that, has offered a hand of cooperation to the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina whose military-political representatives have demographically crippled it.

That hand of reconciliation is problematic for Serb-Croat politics, so Bosniaks are being pushed into the narrative of radical Islamism in every way possible.

On the other hand, but not separately, the story of Bosnia and Herzegovina's integration into the European Union is being used in the same way. In one direction, Bosnia and Herzegovina as a state is being dismantled and disempowered through alleged reform laws that are essentially a vicious cycle of ethnic mafias and peripeteias from which the state and its institutions can only atrophy.

On the other hand, these same laws impose that the nation that constitutes over 50 percent of the country should have the same number of representatives in institutions as a nation that constitutes 10 percent, while institutions are crippled by the narrative of ethnic, parity, and proportional representation, without any consideration for expertise.

All talk of Bosnia and Herzegovina's alleged progress on the European path can be summarized by the fact that the higher the assessment of alleged progress, the less of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina there is. The reform agenda and its contortions are the best example.

On the other hand, there is increasingly public talk about plans to dismantle Bosnia and Herzegovina and for one of its parts – the Federation of BiH – to join the EU. The head of BiH diplomacy, Elmedin Konaković, raised such a possibility long ago, and Professor Amel Delić recently spoke about the same thing.

Realistically, the entire story of Bosnia and Herzegovina's European integration leads to this. Because the RS does not agree to any normal, democratic, or progressive solution. Because their goal, known since the aggression, is secession and annexation to Serbia under the flag of Russia. And that is why they cripple all solutions that Brussels demands from BiH, and then Brussels, in panic from failure, agrees to crippled solutions.

The consequence is a diminishing state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The politics from the RS is doing this intentionally in cooperation with Croatian politics in BiH, which would benefit from the division of the state along entity lines. Because, in the dismantled Constitution of the FBiH according to Schmidt's impositions, Croatian politics has superiority over Bosniak politics. In the event of the announced outcome, where the Federation would become some kind of Croatian exterritorial entity on the tracks to the EU, it is clear who would call the shots.

However, all of this that you have read would not be problematic if pro-Bosnian politics did not bend with the wind.

Because the insane compromise by which pro-Bosnian politics agrees to the gradual disappearance of the state for the sake of a false European path is no different from the attacks of Serb-Croat politics on that same state.

Compromise today is what the JNA, VRS, or HVO artillery was during the aggression against BiH. Because Bosnia and Herzegovina has emerged weaker from every compromise. The blockades we have witnessed for a year now and the inability to overcome them are the best proof of wrong moves towards compromise.

Therefore, it is more likely today that the Federation of BiH will enter the EU as a Croatian colony than Bosnia and Herzegovina as an independent state. That narrative is fueled by accusations against Bosniaks, compromise, and completely misguided politics based in Sarajevo.

For this reason, it is necessary to say that we do not need a path that leads a crippled Bosnia and Herzegovina (the entity of the FBiH) into the European Union. If there is pro-Bosnian politics that dares to speak about the interests of Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is necessary to say so as soon as possible, while simultaneously developing strategies to build the European path and preserve the stability and integrity of the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Everything else leads to disappearance and the final epilogue in which Serbian and Croatian aggressors achieve political victory that they could not achieve through armed aggression.

Surely we are not so unlucky that all our politicians are yes-men to foreigners, because otherwise, it's a bleak prospect!
