Vučević: New information on resignations expected by end of week

(Patria) - Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević says new information on resignations following the canopy collapse at the Novi Sad Railway Station can be expected by the end of the week.

Vučević told Kurir that it is not a question of "a race against time" or meeting a norm.

- Certainly when we talk about it, we are talking about short timeframes. These decisions are made with a cool head and cannot be driven by emotions, which are certainly present.

I believe that the decisions we will make do not mean that something is being done technically, but rather a decision is being made on objective political responsibility - added Vučević.

He asked the competent prosecutor's office to release information on how far the investigative actions have progressed, so that the public can be assured that the prosecutor's office is working on the case.

Speaking about the causes of the canopy collapse, Vučević stressed that it is a big question whether it was caused by an act or omission, or a combination of the two.

- That is not a question of a political nature, it requires a technical analysis. Certainly someone is guilty. Someone must face criminal responsibility. It will not be easy for the prosecutor's office. The prosecutor's office must say how far they have gotten.

I think 36 people have been questioned. It will be two weeks on Friday since the accident happened. We will discuss political responsibility, which is not subjective, in the coming days - Vučević said.
