(Patria) - Around midnight from Friday to Saturday, the yacht "Acceptus", 24 meters long and seven meters wide, and according to unofficial estimates, worth around three million euros, burned down in the city port of Makarska, and which was sailing under the Maltese flag.
Slobodna Dalmacija writes that the fire lasted for more than four hours, and firefighters from almost the entire Makarska Riviera extinguished it.
As soon as it started burning, Makarska residents managed to wake up three crew members who were sleeping in one of the five cabins by banging on the boat, and who, fortunately, escaped unharmed.
The yacht, as Slobodna Dalmacija further states, is owned by Mišel Čolak, owner of the company "Feal" from Široki Brijeg, who also owns an apartment in Makarska and is involved in apartment construction.
During the fire, there were about five tons of fuel in the yacht's tank, so firefighters extinguished the blaze almost until four in the morning when the yacht capsized on its side, and due to the shallow depth of about two meters, parts of the boat remained above the sea surface.
As Slobodna Dalmacija writes, the yacht, which was moored in the port all winter, entered the port 12 hours before the fire with six guests who had rented it, and weekly rental costs around 90,000 euros.
