(Patria) - HDZ BiH President Dragan Čović announced the start of intensive talks on amendments to the Election Law of BiH for next week.
As he stated, he will first do this with political parties in the FBiH, and then with partners from RS, and harmonize positions.
Although Čović set a short deadline for agreement, emphasizing that the deadline of "six months after the establishment of government" has long passed, he stressed that he will not go for amendments to the Constitution of BiH.
Parallel to this process, another battle will be waged in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH. At the session on November 28, there is also a Proposal for a Decision on Amendments to the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, proposed by the Clubs of MPs of SDP BiH, NiP-Pomak, NS, HDZ BiH – HNS, HDZ 1990 – HNP, and PDA. The key is to fill the Committee for Elections and Appointments in order to finally unblock the appointment of Marin Vukoja as a judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH. Čović has already received support from Elmedin Konaković for this plan, but everything will depend on the dynamics of the amendment of the Rules of Procedure, as well as on the representatives who should finally understand the destructiveness of appointing a person who can be in the Constitutional Court of BiH until the age of 70, and without any prior judicial experience.
Konaković has already had one meeting with Čović, and a meeting of the wider coalition will be held next week.
A meeting of the state coalition, hosted by Čović, is also scheduled for next week, where three laws from the EU agenda should finally be defined: the Law on Courts, the Law on Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism, and the Law on Conflict of Interest.
However, before that meeting, scheduled for mid-week, a session of the House of Representatives of the PS BiH will be held on November 20, which does not include any European laws. But instead, there are new opposing proposals from coalition partners. While Denis Zvizdić proposes the establishment of the Supreme Court of BiH, Milorad Kojić from SNSD proposed the abolition of the Law on the Prosecutor's Office and the Court of BiH.
Next week will bring either a final resolution or a new twist for the state coalition.
It is no secret that the Trojka parties are busy with personnel appointments, as well as taking over positions at both the FBiH and state levels. This ambition should not cloud their judgment and prevent them from resisting the attacks of the Čović-Dodik duo.
It started with fabricated radicalism promoted by SNSD, which Čović cunningly joined. If the Trojka only defends and justifies itself, while at the same time making the desired concessions, then Dragan and Milorad's plan will be successful for them, but fatal for the state.
Milorad Dodik's message ahead of the upcoming talks is a roadmap for his coalition partners:
"Republika Srpska knows very well what needs to be done for BiH's progress towards the EU, and that is the fulfillment of all priorities, without exception.
This means no foreign judges, no fake Schmidt, the agreement of the representatives of the three peoples is the key to all progress. Everything else is deception and talk for small children.
The EU must clearly state in March whether it wants BiH. We have already read all the fairy tales, it is time to see that consistency and that EU that wants us so much and opens its doors wide," Dodik stated.
