Trojka derailed, fall is as certain as good PR: Snow slightly larger than Mujin's organ, and Šteta and Uk in a panic!

By Rasim Belko

Misunderstanding, Americans would say, if they had listened to the excuses of the cantonal authorities in recent days as to why the city of Sarajevo was blocked by snow slightly larger than Mujin's organ in Dino Merlin's song.

The problem is not the fact that snow fell overnight, as the cantonal figureheads are presenting it, the problem is the fact that these authorities in KS are only announcing themselves on the third day and explaining with a story for kindergartens that it's God's, nature's fault, but not theirs. They were nowhere to be found when it was necessary to speed up the sluggish services and clean the city.

Thus, the cantonal prime minister Nihad Uk tells us that he “rejects the facts,” which probably speaks clearly enough about what kind of capacity we are dealing with. The excuse Uk tried to offer on BHRT's program is identical to Aleksandar Vučić's excuse about catching snowflakes and being the only city cleaning snow while it falls. I think that says enough about many things.

They say that when a meter and a half of snow fell the night before the start of the Winter Olympics '84, the city woke up clean. Today, five days after the snowfall, many streets are still difficult to pass, a good part of the sidewalks are covered in snow and ice. For example, Kemal begova and Jezero streets are in the city center and no winter service vehicle has passed through them yet. Not to mention the sidewalks. Five days is not enough time to catch snowflakes in the air, but the streets should have been cleaned and treated with material to prevent ice problems. But, we have long been accustomed to the Trojka government in KS only promising well, doing everything else poorly and incorrectly.

But, besides Uk, the young Vučić and the trainee prime minister, the grey wolf of red color also jumped out. He is grey because of the zone in which he performs traffic-related duties. Adnan Šteta, the cantonal Minister of Transport, did not have time from his leisure to address the public and relevant services when the snow fell and the city was impassable.

He wasn't there the next day either, when the authorities called on citizens to use alternative transport, meaning public transport, and it turned out that it would have been more appropriate to include Ilidža's carriages and other horse-drawn vehicle owners in that transport than Šteta's trams. On Sunday, the wires froze and the trams themselves, so the alternative transport stopped, trolleybuses ran infrequently and skidded on the road. On Monday, we saw that the new trams Šteta boasts about were unable to run in snow slightly larger than average. One such tram in Ilidža derailed and moved off the tracks, which, according to some opinions, are also not the best solution for snow.

I saw cranes and GRAS workers returning Žućo to the route, but Šteta was not there, just as he was not in public to explain what was happening with the only visible work he had done in two terms.

In a Facebook pamphlet, we read Šteta accusing us of creating AI videos and the fact that “some people were filming while GRAS workers were returning the tram to the tracks.” Apparently, my friend Kondor, who sent me the video of that action, should have left his work, put his phone in his pocket, and pushed Žućo to help the GRAS workers.

I haven't read a bigger piece of nonsense in the winter nonsense diary of Trojka. Šteta, who only announced himself on Tuesday, and the problems have been ongoing since Saturday, says he had a lot of work coordinating and working on the ground. He doesn't care that there is no evidence of this before Tuesday; Trojka has long had no problem rejecting facts and sticking to spin.

He doesn't care that one tram derailed, and many others in different parts of the city remained on the tracks, so they had to pull out so-called charity trams from the depot to clear the snow and push the newcomers to the garage.

Šteta says that Gras informed the public regularly, which is again not true, because until journalists started asking questions about the trams, there were no statements or explanations.

All of this, according to Šteta's opinion, is the product of AI and people at keyboards who make videos and criticize the KS Government. And then Šteta, Uk, and Gras tell us how they cleaned the stops. Here is a photo from Damir Hodžić, a photojournalist for Faktor, from yesterday in Baščaršija, so judge for yourself, believe your eyes or Šteta.

The information that after Šteta's self-praise and self-protection, tram traffic stopped, and on Wednesday morning it only ran on the Ilidža - Railway Station route because a tram got stuck again in Skenderija, shows how they cleaned and worked.

Well, now we come to the misunderstanding from the beginning of the text. You, the rulers of Sarajevo Canton, are not to blame for the snow falling, but you are to blame and responsible because the utility companies are incapacitated for their basic winter function. After the tree fell and our fellow citizen died, you are to blame and responsible because even the summer jobs were not done properly. You are to blame because, according to the statement of the mayor of Novi Grad, Semir Efendić, all six vehicles intended for cleaning this municipality broke down at the same time, so private companies had to step in.

You are to blame and responsible because, as the government, you allowed companies like Rad and other public utility companies to be managed by various acrobats without basic literacy and knowledge of what and how needs to be done in this city for it to function in winter. And we don't need to reinvent the wheel, because this is not an African country, snow is a normal occurrence here.

You are to blame and responsible because you install party cronies in key positions, and practice has shown that such people are incompetent, so take responsibility along with them. You are to blame because you have hidden the contracts for the track renovation and the procurement of trams that cannot withstand a little snow in a city where half a meter of snow was once a normal occurrence, because this is an Olympic city surrounded by mountains.

That's where the misunderstanding between us citizens and you in power lies. It is not possible and there will not be divided responsibility, because you gentlemen are paid, elected, and appointed to positions from which you manage Sarajevo Canton, and just as you publish epics about all good things, however small, it's time to use your heads and take responsibility.

Because, there is no doubt that the sight of the tram on the field in Ilidža is the best description of Trojka's seven-year rule. Trojka has derailed, the fall is unstoppable, no matter how good the PR is!
