CRUELTY OF RETURNER'S LIFE Kasumovići are the only ones in Kutuzer, now they have no water, authorities don't care - they want empty villages!

(Patria) - The difficulty of the returnee's life, 27 years after the start of the implementation of Annex 7, is testified by the residents of the village of Kutuzero, located 28 kilometers from Srebrenica. And, in this remote village live two people, grandmother Timka Kasumović and her son Fejzo.

In the entire village, which was destroyed during the aggression, only these two live. Grandmother Timka is 79 years old, and now, despite all the difficulties they face, she is forced to walk for kilometers to bring water for the family and livestock.

Namely, a month ago their water pump broke down, so they are forced to carry water for kilometers on their backs. As they told Patria, they have contacted the authorities in the Municipality of Srebrenica, but their request and plea for help have not been granted.

"They simply don't listen to us," say the Kasumovići.

In the genocide committed by the Army of Republika Srpska, grandmother Timka's son, husband, and three brothers were killed, and these are wounds that will never heal. The cruelty of life strikes everywhere, and this hamlet, without access roads, cut off from the world, is alive precisely thanks to the Kasumović family who returned in 2003.



Few people visit them, mostly humanitarian workers who try to at least slightly alleviate the cruelty felt by the mother and son.

Their wish is to have water, especially in winter conditions when the supply needs are triple, because it is difficult to walk even without a load, let alone with canisters of water on their backs.

Remote village of Kutuzer

Water is the source of life, so perhaps therein lies the negligence of the authorities from the Municipality of Srebrenica, because the difficult living conditions could also drive the brave Kasumovići away from Kutuzer, which would remain empty if they left, with only walls and destroyed houses testifying that there was once a happy life here.
