What happened in Sarajevo is not just an "accident". It is a tragedy that has forever changed lives, do you know that in the KS Government!
Erdoan Morankić lost his life in a tram accident, and a little girl lost her leg. One man will never hug his family again. One child will carry the consequences of a moment that should not have happened for their entire life.
And then, out of the blue, we hear statements from Kenan Magoda that SDP ministers were in favor of a Day of Mourning, and we ask the Prime Minister why it was not declared!? Shifting responsibility through the media. Through tragedy. Through someone else's pain. That is simply a great disrespect to the parents and all those mourning the deceased young man.
And the truth is much simpler, we don't need their Day of Mourning. Sarajevo is draped in black even without 'circus performers' formally allowing us to grieve!
They have long turned the Day of Mourning into a protocol of flags at half-mast, black ribbons, one statement, and tomorrow everything goes back to normal. Now that there are no SNSD and HDZ on that path, they have started to outsmart each other! Citizens are tired of symbolism. Tired of formalities. Tired of political "we were for it".
What is one day of silence worth if the system remains the same? What is a statement worth if nothing changes? What is a political argument worth while a family mourns a son, and a child will learn to live without a part of their body?
We need accountability. We need to determine how and why this happened.
We need institutions to do their job before, not after, a tragedy. We need someone to bear the consequences if there were omissions. And we are grieving anyway!
How dare they compete with statements today while the city mourns? How dare they use tragedy for mutual accusations? This is not a political issue.
This is a matter of citizen safety. This is a matter of the system. This is a matter of humanity.
Erdoan Morankić deserves more than a protocol Day of Mourning. The girl deserves more than a statement. The citizens of Sarajevo deserve the truth and accountability.
