PARADE FOR ME, PARADE FOR YOU: Šteta took third-way coalition members and guests, with whom we went into debt for new trams, on a 'special ride'

Written by: Amra Vrabac

First, a convoy of KJKP Rad vehicles paraded one night. A few days earlier, officials gathered at the start of a cleaning campaign in Sarajevo Canton. And today, they all ceremoniously took a ride in a new Stadler tram.

“Special ride” was written on the tram in which the third-way coalition members, along with guests from all levels of government, strutted cheerfully like first-graders. Present were state minister Edin Forto, federal prime minister Nermin Nikšić with ministers, members of the Government and Assembly of Sarajevo Canton, municipal mayors, directors of cantonal institutions, and guests from international financial institutions from which Sarajevo Canton, or rather the state, borrowed for public transport.

The capacity of the new tram is 79 seats and slightly more standing places, provided you don't move. And in this ride, the first-graders filled the new tram.

Federal Television was not present because it is in the dark today, thanks to the incompetent state government that gave BHRT 4 million KM for a hole that is several dozen times deeper and for whose interests BHRT is blackmailing RTV FBiH.

What the third-way coalition started a few years ago, they continued today. Endless photo sessions with new municipal trucks, trolleybuses, buses, trams, various parades have become an integral part of the workday for ministers in the Sarajevo Canton Government.

However, they are not so transparent when they appoint the same people multiple times or when documentation arrives that the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office is investigating certain appointments. They are not so transparent either when they distribute money for various events from which only they and selected businessmen have seen Dubai.

They are not transparent either while our healthcare system is drowning in debt, struggling with a lack of staff, and the problems are so great that even the arrangement with private healthcare institutions and cost refunds can no longer help.

And so the third-way coalition members filled the new tram with guests while the state in which they live so nicely is shrinking. The important thing is that we take a photo.

This is a state where it is desirable for a minister to have a diploma from a private faculty or university whose name they don't even know, except for DIF because that one must be state-owned.

The host of today's special ride was the Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton, Adnan Šteta. He is one of those who acquired education, or rather “diplomas,” at private institutions.

And in the photos that were carefully taken and posted on social media, it can be seen that the new tram was crowded. There was even knee bumping because in the new tram you simply cannot avoid it.

Most will say it was a pleasant ride and that the new tram is nice. I might say the same if it were possible to enter or exit the tram normally during rush hour, and as for the struggle to reach the exit, there is plenty to say.

The ride was attended by members of the Sarajevo Canton Government, led by Prime Minister Nihad Uk, a delegation of the FBiH Government, headed by Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić, Minister of Transport and Communications of Bosnia and Herzegovina Edin Forto, Chairman of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly Elvedin Okerić with deputy chairpersons, EBRD Director Manuela Naessl, EIB Director Sandrin Friscia, Head of Cooperation at the EU Delegation to BiH Stefano Ellero, Swiss Ambassador to BiH Daniel Hunn, representatives of GIZ, JICA, delegations from the embassies of Austria, Japan, the United States of America, representatives of Stadler, Centrotrans, Gras, the Sarajevo Canton Employers' Association, the Faculty of Transport and Communications, municipal mayors, as well as many other friends of transport development projects in Sarajevo Canton.
