Besides a meteorological problem, we also have a deeply political one: Who is the government in BiH making fools of?

From the moment snow covered Bosnia and Herzegovina, and especially Sarajevo Canton, general political madness ensued. Not because of the snow, we've had that before, but because of the reactions of those who are supposed to manage the system. The government, for who knows what time, has turned into its own opposition. They give each other moral lessons, demand accountability, and point fingers, but never at themselves.

Because if they are not responsible, who is?

Delegate in the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament Kemal Ademović (NiP) thus discovers the obvious this morning, public companies have failed, the staff is incompetent, the management is wrongly chosen. He particularly emphasizes KJKP RAD and its director who, according to him, comes from marketing, was fourth on the competition list, but was still appointed "under political pressure".

A detail that Ademović mentions in passing, and which undermines his entire argument, is the fact that this politics is his politics. So where was he when the director was appointed, because now it's "too little, too late".

The party to which he belongs appointed staff, made decisions, had a majority and power. Today, when the sidewalks are buried and citizens are outraged, these same people act as disappointed observers, almost whistleblowers of their own system.

Even more grotesque is the criticism from the president of NiP, Elmedin Konaković, who also publicly "calls out" the directors of companies appointed by his party. This is no longer political confusion, it is open mockery of citizens.

In the same chorus, the Vice President of the Federation of BiH Igor Stojanović (SDP) joins, attributing the failures to "years of infrastructure neglect", weak staff, and the need for dismissals. All of this sounds reasonable, until the simple question is asked: who has been part of the government all these years?

And then we come to an unprecedented absurdity, some political actors, like members of Our Party, proudly pose with shovels, demonstrating that they know how to clear snow. What they have clearly shown, however, is that they do not know, or do not want to, do what they were elected for: organization, management, decision-making, and taking responsibility. If they want to do physical labor, perhaps it would be more honest for them to apply for a job when KJKP RAD is looking for workers.

The problem, of course, is not just the snow. The snow has only exposed the complete disorientation of the government. Their selective loudness. Because while they are thundering today about uncleared sidewalks, yesterday they were silent about much more serious things: the collapse of institutions, political bargaining, betrayals of state interests, and even the open denial and insult of genocide victims by Milorad Dodik.

Then there were no statements, sharp tones, or "determination of responsibility". Only Kemal Ademović left the meeting where Dodik cursed the genocide, but he remained part of the politics that silently approved such an act.

Therefore, it is entirely legitimate to ask whether the government considers us politically illiterate or simply counts on the short memory of citizens? Because one cannot simultaneously be the government and the opposition, an arsonist and a firefighter, the architect of the system and its greatest critic.

The snow will melt. But the political damage produced by this level of hypocrisy and irresponsibility remains. And every subsequent centimeter of snow will only be a new reminder that the problem in BiH is not just meteorological but also deeply political.
