Nebojša hid the bones of genocide victims under a fountain for years: Who is protecting the Brčko doctor who is still free today

(Patria) - Not only is he still not arrested, not only is he still free, but the man has his own practice where he treats patients to this day. And as if nothing has happened at all. Shame and disgrace for the BiH judiciary.

With these words, the president of the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide, Murat Tahirović, commented for the Patria News Agency on the case of Brčko doctor Nebojša Mraović, who came into the focus of the BiH public in September last year.

Let us remind you, during the exhumation carried out by the Institute for Missing Persons (INO) of BiH on September 21, 2023, in the yard of Mraović's private house, located in the Srpska Varoš settlement in Brčko, incomplete remains of two persons were found, concreted in a fountain. Based on DNA analysis, it was determined that they belonged to the victims of the genocide committed in Srebrenica in 1995.

Tahirović: Shame and disgrace for the BiH judiciary

According to witness testimonies, as well as his own admission, Mraović brought these remains to Brčko in 1997, after which he studied them and used them in his practice, and finally, in 2012, they were hidden and concreted under the fountain in the yard of his family home.

Tahirović asks - what are the competent police agencies and judicial institutions doing? Why is the prosecutor's office not taking any action?

- A doctor who has been found to have used the bones of Srebrenica genocide victims for his own purposes, and then buried them in his own yard, is still receiving patients today without any court order.

Shouldn't such a person already be in custody? Or is the focus greater on arresting imams in RS, with the full support of the MUPs from FBiH.

We demand that the Prosecutor's Office of BiH take over the case of the doctor from Brčko without delay and prosecute him in accordance with the law - Tahirović stated.

Our interlocutor fears that this case is related to the systematic destruction of evidence of the genocide that lasted for years, which the Hague Tribunal has thoroughly documented and exposed the plan when criminals, under the guise of so-called terrain sanitation, dug up mass graves and further hid bodies.

- The state prosecutor's office must urgently launch an investigation, because, by all accounts, it was a systematic destruction of evidence, and it is possible that the doctor knows how and in what way he obtained the bodies and who his collaborators were.

And perhaps he knows some other information? Maybe that's why the doctor enjoys protection because he knows more than what has been discovered - Tahirović concludes in an interview with Patria.
