MOL and Gazprom Neft agree on NIS sale, Serbia increases ownership by five percent, UAE to be included

(Patria) - Serbian Minister of Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović stated that MOL and Gazprom Neft have agreed on the basic terms of the future sale and purchase agreement for NIS.

Hungarian company MOL and Russian Gazprom have agreed on the basic terms of the future sale and purchase agreement for NIS, which will be sent to the US OFAC for a decision, and Serbia has succeeded in negotiations to increase its ownership stake by five percent, stated the Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović today.

"What is also important is that Serbia has succeeded in these negotiations to improve its position compared to 2008, when we remained below 30 percent ownership, which is to increase our ownership in the future in the Naftna industrija Srbije by five percent and reach a number of shares that will enable us greater decision-making rights in the Shareholders' Assembly, and above all to protect the interests of our citizens," said the minister.

Regarding partners from the United Arab Emirates, as she said, it is expected that they will also be part of the future sale and purchase agreement.
