Mešalić, Čavalić, Salkić for NAP: Citizens of FBiH hostages of imposed government wandering like Alice in Wonderland

Two months have passed since the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH held its last session. In fact, since the formation of the current parliamentary majority, the parliamentary life of the Federation has been reduced to maintaining the legislative framework for survival.

Nothing else, nothing important has happened. And while the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elmedin Konaković, in his public appearances accuses the opposition of blocking the Parliament's work on the European path, he does not want to approach the reality that is as clear as day. And the announcements alone give a clearer picture of who is and who will work against the interests of the state and the public.

- I think that the Troika and HDZ will launch an offensive after Bajram. A session will probably follow immediately after the holidays, after April 10. It is possible that there will be two sessions, that at one there will be the election of Constitutional Court judge Marina Vukoje, and at the other Dragan Mioković will replace Mirjana Marinković Lepić, in yet another trade in which the Troika loses - points out in an interview with Patria the head of the Democratic Front's caucus, Mahir Mešalić.

Mešalić is of the opinion that the pressure will be strong until mid-May, because by then the parliamentary majority will try to appoint Vukoje to the Constitutional Court, which will be yet another additional sale of the position to the HDZ.

- In these positions, NiP and NS are in the lead, while people from the SDP are not speaking out, although I expect they will also vote. In the event of possible obstructions by Mašić, Žuljević and others, they will replace SDP cadres in the Commission for Elections and Appointments, where Elzina Pirić and others would enter - concludes Mešalić.

The president of the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina caucus, Admir Čavalić, reminds that the last session was held in January.

- So, two months have passed. As if we are again in the period of a technical government. Why is that so? Two reasons - first of all, there is no consensus within the majority on key political issues such as, for example, the appointment of a judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH or the chairman of the house. In addition, the current majority has no programmatic orientation, so there is no vision, direction, content, or pace of work. In such circumstances, like Alice in Wonderland, it doesn't matter where we are going, how, or in what timeframe. The FBiH Government is dealing with some of its own issues, and the parliament is in a state of hibernation - explains Čavalić.

Sandi Salkić, a representative of the People's European Alliance, points out to Patria that "almost unnoticed, in the pleasant shadow of problems at the state level, a parliamentary 'idyll' is unfolding in the Federation."

- The Parliament of FBiH very rarely convenes, there are no laws, and the government does not even try to solve the accumulated problems. From the recent blockades regarding the appointment of Vukoje, we have come to the harsh reality: we have a Federal government, but we do not have a majority in the Parliament. However, we are the only parliamentary democracy in the world where the government can function without a majority. It is important that the Troika and HDZ BiH got the Federation Government and a budget of six billion, ministers, directors, assistants, advisors… - believes Salkić.

As he says, on the other hand, the citizens of the Federation are hostages of the imposed government, which has neither the political capacity nor the knowledge to solve their problems.

- Everyone is suffering - workers, pensioners, veterans. Patience is running out! Hopefully, these imposed ones will realize that in time - added Salkić.
