Konaković in Zagreb lives up to the "good boy" epithet: Defends Plenković's entry into BiH, condemns Helez for statements about Zovko

(Patria) - BiH Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmedin Konaković stated today from Zagreb that Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković did not violate any BiH law because he entered BiH with the permission of the institutions.

Plenković entered BiH on Thursday with a delegation via the Gradiška-Novi most border crossing, which is not officially open. Plenković was visiting Banja Luka, from where he stated that he deliberately crossed the border crossing to see what Croatia had allocated 50 million euros for. Permission for Plenković's entry was granted by the Deputy Minister of Security Ivica Bošnjak (HDZ) after the official opening ceremony was cancelled because the Management Board of the Indirect Taxation Authority (UIO) did not adopt the Rulebook to assign UIO officials to this crossing. The plan was for the Chairperson of the Council of Ministers of BiH Borjana Krišto and Plenković to officially open the border crossing, but after that was not possible, Plenković had a different wish, which was fulfilled by HDZ cadres.

While the public in BiH is still appalled by Plenković's incursion, thus violating the sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina's borders, the head of BiH diplomacy, in the middle of Zagreb, completely absolves that move.

However, to make matters worse, Konaković did not stop at that topic. In an effort to prove that he is indeed a "good boy", as HDZ MEP Željana Zovko once called him, with whom he is participating in the same panel on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Agreement, along with Dragan Čović, his good friend Gordan Grlić Radman, and Željka Cvijanović, he stated that what Zukan Helez had said about Zovko in recent days "is not good".

Although Helez had addressed Željana Zovko a few days ago with a sharp response to her repeated negative views on BiH and Bosniaks, Konaković used this moment to publicly condemn his coalition partner and BiH Minister of Defence.

Similarly, one could ask Konaković why he waited nine days to send a letter of reaction to the American administration regarding the heinous and false statements of Max Primorac about BiH and Muslims, and today he participated in an event with the very same person who today reiterated the views for which he sent a protest letter to the US Congress.

If we were malicious, we would say that Konaković wanted to avoid the cancellation of his participation in today's panel, so he timed the letter and media releases after he had already taken his seat at the Zagreb gathering.
