Have Bosniaks given up on the state: SDA and HDZ in Mostar adopted a decision on the 'lease of state agricultural land'!

The Mostar City Council adopted a decision by which, in effect, agricultural land in this canton was taken from the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite the ban on disposal according to the OHR decision.

What the SDA and HDZ councilors did is nothing less than an open undermining of state sovereignty and a continuation of the silent partition of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

On the ground, it is already clearly visible how the country is being divided, the Serbian and Croatian sides are rounding off their territories, while Bosniaks are left with three “land registry ghettos” – central Bosnia, Goražde, and the semi-open area of Krajina. This is no coincidence; it is a continuation of a policy that during the war was pursued with cannons, and today is pursued through council decisions and cantonal laws.

The Bosniak councilors who raised their hands for this knowingly acted against the interests of the state and their own people. Their hunger for positions and petty political gains is so great that they do not see that they are thereby giving away state territory for a future third entity or part of a Croatian banovina. And the war, I remind you, was fought for territory, not for armchairs.

On the other hand, the Croatian councilors did not even try to hide that their goal is control over the area. They obviously assessed that the moment had matured and that they were strong enough to start implementing their plans. And they are strong, thanks precisely to those who should be the staunchest defenders of Bosnia and Herzegovina, namely the Bosniak political representatives.

To make the irony even greater, Mayor Mario Kordić is aware that the OHR co

uld react, but the decision was nevertheless adopted.

“I fear that even such a decision, despite good intentions, will cause discontent. Since the adoption of that decision, we have been warning that it is harmful for the city due to the possibility of development. Associations will probably try to portray it as a criminal topic and again tie the hands and feet of the City of Mostar. We are intensively discussing with the OHR and addressing all levels of government because it is a shame that farmers would be left without the possibility of development,” Kordić said after the adoption of the decision.

So, they are knowingly going against the state and its constitutional order and sending a message: “We can do whatever we want.”

We have recently written about such processes, about the case of Ivan Sedlo, where the Government of Sarajevo Canton, according to available data, illegally granted a concession for about 150,000 square meters of state land. So, the same pattern: what belongs to the state is handed over for private interests.

And now the question arises – have Bosniaks truly given up on a unified Bosnia and Herzegovina? Has a fuller private pocket become more important than state property? If the answer is the latter, then we have a tragedy: while some are fighting to territorially round off their entities and cantons, Bosniak politicians persistently show that personal profit is more important to them than the state. This is how Bosnia and Herzegovina is being lost – not by rifle, but through petty sales and betrayals of one's own people.

Because, let's look realistically, every such decision remains permanently recorded in the land registries, and once the land passes into other hands, recovery is very difficult.

Bosniaks, instead of being the last bulwark for preserving state territory, have become its biggest traders. Is it possible that those who swear by a “unified BiH” today are the first to sign documents that chip away at that same state?

This is not just a matter of agriculture or a few plots – this is a matter of state survival. If this pace continues, BiH will soon exist only in the Constitution and on paper, while on the ground it will be divided and sold off. And the greatest responsibility will not lie with Dodik, Čović, or anyone else – but with the Bosniak politicians who knowingly allowed the state to disappear through their decisions.

And that is why it is legitimate to ask whether they have betrayed Bosnia and Herzegovina? Or has their betrayal become so normalized that we no longer even recognize it?
