Išerić: That's right Milorad, the Dayton Constitution is a temporary solution

Last night on BHT1 I watched a supposed interview with Bosnian Orthodox Milorad Dodik. In fact, it wasn't an interview at all. It was a carefully prepared guest appearance in which the guest was allowed to deliver a very threatening monologue for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The journalist sitting in the studio hardly asked any questions, and very often confirmed Dodik's views. At one point, she agreed with the Bosnian Orthodox Milorad Dodik that “Muslims are blocking projects in RS”.

Therefore, public TV services must undergo urgent reconstruction and professionalization. We, the citizens of this country, do not pay TV subscriptions for our state to promote state destroyers, perpetrators of criminal offenses, destroyers of the constitutional order, and individuals who glorify war crimes and criminals, deniers of genocide, and thus further disturb the citizens. Dodik made many threats in that monologue.

That he will declare the independence of the Republika Srpska entity, that he will pass “his” election law, that he will not appoint Constitutional Court judges... and much more. He also made many false claims, such as “Bosnia and Herzegovina is a composed state,” “Bosnia and Herzegovina is internationally recognized, but it does not have sovereignty, because it belongs to the entities,” “state institutions are not state but joint” and so on.

The Orthodox Dodik accuses Muslims in Sarajevo of wanting to create a unitary state and, as can be concluded, by not agreeing to his conditions, leading Bosnia and Herzegovina to its disappearance.

But it's not like that, Milorad. I swear to you that it is not like that and that it will not be like that. It can only be true and likely that with your behavior, you are leading the Republika Srpska entity towards abolition and disappearance. And see something else, Milorad; you were bothered that someone (and it wasn't just anyone) told the truth, and that is that the Dayton Agreement, or its constitution, is a transitional solution. And it is.

And it must be. Because, just as you say there is no country where a foreigner makes laws, there is no country in the world where the work of its institutions can be blocked by one nation, one party, or one individual. And not an individual as a Member of Parliament in the Parliamentary Assembly, but an individual against whom criminal proceedings are being conducted before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Therefore, be sure, Milorad, that Bosnia and Herzegovina will be reorganized very soon, in such a way as to ensure equal rights for all citizens (implementation of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights and to ensure the efficient work of state (not joint, Milorad) institutions. And if you continue with such perverse policies, there will also be an internal reorganization of the state and the abolition of entities.

It will not be possible that where Orthodox and Catholics are the majority, elections and decisions are made according to the principle of “one man, one vote,” i.e., according to what you call the civic principle, and where Muslims are the majority, according to some invented rules of “entity voting,” “House of Peoples,” “consensus”... and so on. The same rules must apply to all of us and to every inch of this country.

As for the threats to the survival of our country, be sure that we take them seriously, but they are as harmless as a common cold is dangerous to human life. There are various remedies for that. Milorad may seem dangerous to some. And he really wants to present himself that way. For that presentation, he uses his height and weight that God gave him. In addition, he uses his insolence and audacity. But he will soon realize that he is an ordinary citizen who must answer for his wrongdoings.
