Bitter trials ahead for Vučić and Serbian nationalists

Aleksandar Vučić, or rather the nationalist part of Serbia under his control (unfortunately, a very large part), which he modulates and whose values he imposes on the whole of Serbia – and through his and Porfirije's outposts, even wider, in the BiH entity of Republika Srpska and Montenegro – will face bitter trials in the coming days.

The very likely adoption of the UN Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica and the equally very likely admission of Kosovo to the Council of Europe. These two events – if they happen, and it is highly probable they will – will be a slap not only to Vučić and his ruling camarilla, both in Belgrade and in Banja Luka and Podgorica, but will be a huge slap to all Serbian nationalists who live in self-deception, manipulation, and sick mythomania, regardless of the catastrophic price for Serbia and its neighbors.

If there were reason and wisdom, confronting reality – and the announced two events are exactly that – would serve Serbia as a wake-up call from its destructive nationalist coma, a state where it suffers defeat after defeat, where it is collapsing, demographically dwindling, and falling into despair.

Unfortunately, a sobering up – and the expected two events could be the initial steps – will not happen. The ruling clerical-nationalist camarilla, mired in absolute power and crime, is too tenacious and will not allow its ideological monolith to be disrupted, because clerical-nationalism is the fundamental pillar of its power.

Since they control almost all media outlets that brainwash the public day and night, if the two mentioned events occur (as is clearly expected), the bewildered public, under the influence of propaganda, will perceive it as a slap to Serbia and Serbs from the West, which supposedly hates them.

Propaganda will intensify pro-Putin narratives and insane Putinophilia. Similar will be the promotion of friendship with China and other autocratic states and regimes.

Vučić's Serbia, it is highly likely, after the two announced events, instead of accepting and supporting reality for its own benefit, will again score an own goal, sinking even deeper into the mire of its own destructive delusions.
