Continuation of the feuilleton Dostoevsky in Gaza (second part)
By Sead Alić
The author of one of the letters in which Dostoevsky is accused of hating Jews asks a seemingly logical question: "...why do you stand against Jews, and not against exploiters in general... I will never allow the claim that an unscrupulous exploiter lives in the blood of that nation".
Interpreting the attack, Dostoevsky is primarily surprised by the intensity of that attack, further explaining that there was no reason for such an attack in his diaries. However, he detects a kind of 'speech from above' in the Jewish objection he received, especially when talking about the Russian people. If an intellectual writes like that, let's simplify Dostoevsky's thought, what can be expected from an uneducated Jew. Concluding the first part of the reaction, Dostoevsky concludes that there are certainly mistakes on both the Russian and Jewish sides, but the question is on whose side the mistakes are greater.
Referring to the arrogant tone of the letter Dostoevsky received, he simply states that Jews can be "oppressed, tormented, and humiliated", but that the Russian peasant carries a much greater burden on his shoulders. Dostoevsky allows that there are also mistakes on the Russian side that must be corrected. But Zionist neocolonialism does not admit mistakes. It does not recognize the United Nations. It does not recognize the Law. It does not recognize the rules of warfare. It does not recognize the rights of Palestinians, for whom it wants to say that they live in his country.
The 'speech from above' that Dostoevsky writes about has been perfected by the position of Jewish capital in the world. The 'speech from above' today is the speech of Netanyahu and his government, which provokes and directs the sponsored, bought West. "Money is in our hands," Netanyahu seems to say, and as long as that is the case, there will be no end to the war, killing, injustice, and displacement of the Palestinian people from their land. The 'speech from above' is the speech of the owners of capital, the owners or managers of the most powerful corporations in the world. The Zionist creation in Palestine is merely a starting point for the final phase of capitalism – the open enslavement of the non-Jewish part of the world.
To understand Dostoevsky's views, and his indicative detection of the position of Jews, the stance of the text Pro et contra is quite important, especially the beginning: "I agree, it is very difficult to know the forty-century history of a people like the Jews, but first – I certainly know that there is no other people in the world who complains so much about their fate, who always laments so much, at every moment and in every word, about their humiliation, suffering, and martyrdom. One would think that in Europe, they do not rule, that they do not hold the stock exchanges, and therefore, the internal politics, the morality of the state. …"
A parallel can be drawn between Dostoevsky's text and the situation in Gaza, which is also evident in the otherwise completely justified stance of the Jewish interlocutor. Namely, in his letter, among other things, it states: "First of all, it is necessary to give them (Jews) all rights, all civil rights (just think – until now they have been deprived of the basic right, which is to be able to freely choose their place of residence, from which many troubles arise that affect the entire mass of Jews) as all other members and representatives of foreign nationalities in Russia have, and only after that should they be required to fulfill their obligations to the state and its native subjects, Russians."
If we draw a parallel and transfer the situation to Gaza, then the words of the Jewish interlocutor could sound like this: "First of all, it is necessary to give them (Palestinians) all rights, all civil rights (just think – until now they have been deprived of the basic right, which is to be able to freely choose their place of residence, from which many troubles arise that affect the entire mass of Palestinians) as all other members and representatives of foreign nationalities in Palestine have…"
Of course, the situation in Gaza is immeasurably worse for the 'today's, current Jews' – Palestinians. They are not only squeezed into a small area, not only do they have almost no civil rights – they are killed daily, they are driven into so-called 'safe areas', while all the time working to expel them from Gaza, or rather Palestine. A small look back into the recent past reveals the lie of entering the northern Gaza Strip and the demand for Palestinians to withdraw south. A new demand followed to go even further south, UNTIL the Palestinians reached the Egyptian border. Is the plan of the Zionists to destroy them by starvation or to bring Egypt into a situation to accept Palestinians because otherwise the Jewish media lobby will declare them guilty of the extinction of Palestinians at their doorstep, it is difficult to say.
However, the fact is that the fight against Hamas is a lie preceded by an event that is still unexplored and in which, besides Hamas members, Zionist forces also participated (on the one hand, by allowing Hamas to break through the most protected camp walls in the world, the walls of Gaza, on the other hand, by a delayed intervention, on the third, by shooting at facilities where Jews were also present, and on the fourth, by lies that were immediately adopted by the media and politicians of the Western world).
So, when Jews are concerned, they are victims because they do not have all civil rights. When Palestinians are concerned, Jews, or rather Zionists, are again victims. Therefore, Zionists expel, kill, starve, and are constantly victims of terrorism. Zionists came to someone else's country, they again have little space and now want to expel the people of a country from its soil. If Jews in Russia were squeezed and did not have all civil rights, how should we describe the situation Palestinians are in today?
The amount of lies that mainstream media showers the world with is greater than the amount of lies produced during the pandemic. The victorious smiles of the criminal Netanyahu defy the common sense of citizens around the world. His fight 'against terrorism' is a fight of terrorism against the natives of Palestine. His shamelessness and unscrupulousness are precisely what global capital players need. The world needs to be brought into a situation of global war from which only those who will not go to the battlefield will emerge victorious, and these are, of course, the richest (hidden in newly built underground shelters).
Dostoevsky speaks of twenty-three million Russians who were like slaves under the landowners. He rhetorically asks if the Jews pitied them and immediately answers – I doubt it. In the west and south of Russia, Dostoevsky wrote, one could only hear that the Jews continued to complain about their position as martyrs.
On March 3, 1861, Russia abolished feudal rule over serfs. How does this reflect on the poor serfs and how do Jews behave in the newly created situation? Dostoevsky rhetorically asks: "...who was the first to pounce on that people as a victim, who started to use their vices, who was the first to wrap that people in the eternal nets of gold and profit, who immediately appeared where the landlords had been, who, although they exploited the people, tried not to destroy them completely, the landlords kept their peasants because they cared about the labor force – and the Jew did not care much about that labor force, he took his and left!…"
From the position of victim to the position of oppressor. Sound familiar?
Dostoevsky also refers to a report he read in the Herald of Europe: "that Jews in America, in its southern states, have already massively flocked to the multi-million masses of freed Blacks and have already grabbed them into their hands, as only they know how, they have surrounded them with their eternal 'gold trade', using the lack of experience and vices of these exploited tribes. Keep in mind, after reading all this, I remembered how, five years ago, it occurred to me that the Blacks freed from the rule of slave owners would not be able to survive precisely because the Jews, who are numerous in the world, would immediately pounce on them as helpless victims."
