Ćulum proposed two Serbs for the Police Officers' Appeals Committee, the new DKPT composition should have two members

(Patria) - The mandate of the members of the Police Officers' Appeals Committee expires at the end of this year, and proposals for new members of this committee are already arriving at the BiH Ministry of Security.

As confirmed to Patria from multiple sources, the director of SIPA, Darko Ćulum, whose mandate is questionable on several grounds, from the illegal return to this position to meeting the conditions for retirement, has sent a proposal of two names, and both are from the Serb people. In the current composition of the Committee, SIPA had two members, Ljubiša Pandurević and Edin Memić. Ćulum has now proposed Ljubiša Pandurević and Dragan Marković again. However, SIPA can no longer have two members in the new composition.

The director of DKPT, Enes Karić, proposed Alen Mujkanović and Amir Ćorić. Proposals for two names are also expected from the BiH Border Police.

In the new composition of the Committee, the Directorate for the Coordination of Police Bodies should have two members this time, because in the 2017-2021 Committee composition, the BiH Border Police had two members, so by rotation, it is now the turn of DKPT.

The Deputy Minister of Security, Ivica Bošnjak, who has been managing the BiH Ministry of Security since the arrest, and later dismissal, of Nenad Nešić, must take into account the national representation of the members, and in the previous two compositions (the current one and the one before it), three Bosniaks were among the seven members.

The BiH Ministry of Security, the Ministry of Civil Affairs, and the Ministry of Justice each delegate one member, and of the seven members, five must be lawyers, while four members come from police agencies (lawyers or police officers).

The Police Officers' Appeals Committee is appointed by the Council of Ministers of BiH at the proposal of the BiH Ministry of Security.

This is the Committee responsible for making decisions on appeals filed by police officers against decisions made by BiH police bodies regarding the status of a police officer or in cases of a police body's failure to make a decision regarding the status of a police officer.

The Police Officers' Appeals Committee decides on an appeal within 30 days of receiving the appeal, except for an appeal against a suspension decision, which it decides on within three days.

Decisions of the Police Officers' Appeals Committee are final and must be implemented without delay, although they may be subject to judicial review in accordance with the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and are delivered within eight days of their adoption.
