On the Day of Victory over Fascism, the fascist Ustaša viper decided to show that fascism is still here and is trying to attack human rights, democracy, and everything that characterizes anti-fascist societies through the institutions of the system. And of course, those who advocate for and live anti-fascism.
At a press conference held in Mostar, the irrelevant leader of an irrelevant party, HSP, Nikola Raguž, stated that regarding the candidacy of Slaven Kovačević, he had addressed the Central Election Commission of BiH, the Chargé d'Affaires of the US Embassy in Sarajevo, John Ginkel, as well as the Government of the Republic of Croatia, seeking protection of the constitutional and democratic order and the legitimate representation of Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
"We are of the opinion that no one who works to the detriment of the Croatian people should have Croatian citizenship, or a Croatian passport. If Kovačević insists on a candidacy that violates the rights of the Croatian people, we consider it justified to consider measures such as revoking citizenship, as well as a permanent ban on entering the Republic of Croatia in accordance with applicable regulations," Raguž stated.
First of all, it seems that Nikola Raguž has a problem with the fact that Slaven Kovačević originates from Zagreb. This fact causes pain to Raguž and his favorite Dragan Čović, so they have to play the role of "Croats above Croats". Unlike Kovačević, who originates from two metropolises, Sarajevo and Zagreb, the aforementioned duo of vipers faces Herzegovinian origins, and this is obviously a problem for proving the Aryan class of Croats.
Unlike Kovačević, who advocates for human rights, equality, and European standards, Raguž, Čović, and similar political actors remain trapped in past ideologies, under the shadow of Ustašism and the Herceg-Bosna project.
Raguž is a politically irrelevant pawn, and HSP BiH is a party without serious electoral significance. How unserious this project is is shown by their website, which exists but does not function. Just like the party itself. HSP has that role, to practically serve exclusively as an extended media and political arm of Dragan Čović. Although without real political power, through social networks and public space, they spread dangerous messages of exclusion, threats, and political persecution.
Calling for the revocation of Slaven Kovačević's citizenship, a man who is exercising his legal and democratic right to run, represents a classic form of fascism. This is not protecting the Croatian people, but a brutal attempt to intimidate and eliminate political opponents using methods that belong to the darkest ideologies of European history.
Because of such messages, the Central Election Commission of BiH must react ex officio, as the actions of HSP go beyond the framework of democratic political action and seriously violate election rules. And those rules are clearly defined, given that the elections have been called.
Sanctions should not only follow for violating the election process, but also for openly promoting fascist rhetoric.
Raguž, HSP, and those like them obviously forget that not all Croats in BiH are Ustašas or fascists. There are Croats who cherish anti-fascist and partisan values, who believe in the equality of all citizens and reject the politics of hatred, division, and nationalist extremism.
The fact that some people try to portray anti-fascism as a threat, while at the same time rehabilitating or relativizing fascist patterns of behavior, is their political and moral problem. Fascism cannot and must not have a place in either Croatia or Bosnia and Herzegovina.
It is particularly shameful that on the Day of Victory over Fascism, such messages of political persecution, national exclusion, and threats are being sent. Those who today call for the deprivation of rights of others due to political action are not protecting the people, they are endangering the very foundations of democracy.
But, this is not something we haven't seen from Dragan Čović before, so the behavior of his follower Raguž is not surprising. Because, what can one expect from politicians and parties that advocate for apartheid models, as they have been caught in deception so many times that even their own people do not believe them.
And the fascist element of such people is also a reason for the judiciary to question its purpose of existence.
