'Cazin Rebellion' against Izetbegović: SDA will get the USK Prime Minister from the Troika, but will lose everything else

(Patria) - When you call someone a traitor, and then make a pact with them, what does that make you? To use SDA's rhetoric – you too are a traitor then. If you are ready to trample the principles you invoked for a cantonal ministry, and break agreements with partners, whatever they may be, then you too are participating in the sell-off of the state, writes Istraga.ba.

Because by entering the Krajina pact with Narod i Pravda, SDP, and the (renegade) Naša stranka, the SDA has shown that it is not much different from those it has, mostly justifiably, called traitors until now.

This company, owned by Safet Kovačević, deals with civil engineering. And the owner is involved in politics and, as an SDA cadre in USK, directly influences future reconstructions.

It has been twenty days since, just before the Istraga sedmice show, in the Hayat TV studio, NiP's federal representative Halil Bajramović boasted to me how they would kick NES out of the USK government and how SDP, NiP, Naša stranka, and POMAK would form the USK government together with SDA. Halil, as we all saw in the slap case, is prone to circumventing the truth. But, here we are, now I officially know he wasn't lying to me.

NiP's politics are clear to me. As "HDZ's flower", Elmedin Konaković's party has the task of securing enough Bosniak hands to deliver as much power as possible to the Herzegovinian Croats and official Zagreb.

SDP, as they have proven, is focused on tender politics. They are ready to make numerous concessions to HDZ for that.

For Naša stranka, certainly, only the Sarajevo municipality of Centar matters, and as far as they are concerned, Jelah near Tešanj is located somewhere in Krajina.

But what about SDA and their "strategic" stories about wanting the unification of Bosniaks?

Nothing. It's all a plain lie. A Krajina SDA member on the edge of the law, named Hamdija Abdić Tgar, has been harmonizing views and policies for months with NiP's Halil Bajramović. Because both of them consider it more important to settle scores with Rifat Hozanović and NES than with Dragan Čović and Milorad Dodik.

NES will, it is now clear, go into opposition at all levels. But it is better to remain principled than to remain in power. When they could have gotten a state (deputy) minister by supporting the Troika's treacherous moves, they chose to get nothing. When, at the Federation level, they were supposed to get several ministers, in return for trampling the FBiH Constitution, they chose opposition.

SDA did not choose opposition. They were sent into opposition. And here we cannot talk about their principles. They are, as we now see in the example of Krajina, in opposition only because they could not be in power. Look, Refik Lendo no longer minds Christian Schmidt, who reduced him to zero at the end of April this year. And the Krajina SDA members consider it more important to have a USK Prime Minister than to deal with "traitors".

In this whole story, the biggest loser is Bakir Izetbegović. The breakup of the coalition in Krajina is a greater defeat for him than the one from last October when Denis Bećirović defeated him.

Why? Well, because he has now shown that at the beginning of his new presidential term, he does not control his own party. Just as Schmidt, violating the Constitution, annulled Lendo, so the Krajina SDA members annulled Izetbegović. If he does not sanction the rebels from Krajina, what will, in the future, prevent any other cantonal committee from conducting policy independently, without the stance of the Central Committee? If he sanctions them, he will lose the party in Krajina. Although it is questionable whether he controls it at all now.

The SDA Collegium, consisting of the party president and vice-presidents, was almost unanimously against the adventure that the Krajina SDA members would embark on with the Troika. Only Ramiz Salkić was on the side of the Krajišnici. Vice-president Mirsad Zaimović did not even appear at the Collegium. And he could be the greatest danger to Izetbegović himself. Because from day one, Zaimović, together with Safet Softić, has advocated for a "partnership" with HDZ and SDP. Just the kind of partnership that existed when Safet Softić's wife became a judge of the Constitutional Court of FBiH.

SDA will get the Prime Minister in Krajina. At the same time, they will lose everything else. Who, at all, can still believe the story that the Troika is pursuing a treacherous policy? Because if they are, and mostly they are, what is SDA doing with the Troika? The answer is simple – SDA is chasing chairs. The SDA president, we see, does not agree with the politics of his party colleagues from Krajina. But without sanctioning the Krajišnici, SDA loses its meaning. The Troika has, in fact, rendered SDA meaningless. Both in power and in opposition.

NES will certainly survive this. Did they make mistakes? Yes. They put, for example, Agan Bunić on the list, for whom changing jerseys is not unusual. They partly did not adhere to the coalition agreement and left SDA without several important cantonal positions. But NES, regarding positions, has lost much more. Both at the state and federal levels.

Next year are local elections. What will SDA base its campaign on? Will the Troika support their candidates in Sarajevo? No. Will the Troika support SDA's mayoral candidates in Krajina? No. After all this, will SDA be able to count on the support of NES and DF? No. They will, therefore, go to the elections alone. On the other side, the Troika will be together. And we have already seen that "three against one" is an uneven match. And? Who is the winner? The Troika. And Michael Murphy. And Christian Schmidt. They threw a piece of Krajina meat to SDA's hungry pack. And the pack members started biting each other. And the alpha male, meanwhile, is still licking the wounds of the alpha female.
